mmmmm..... i have slim PS2 and i live in israel- modchip from natrix team, lets say crystal-cheap= costs 700 new israelian shekels= about 160 us dolars. swap magic costs 300 nis= about 80$- in short, its a real rip-off. i want to know if theres a differences between the chips or swap discs that being used in the us between the ones that used in here(as same as europe). cause i know that in the us the chips are very cheap(and the swap discs also). is it worth ordering to israel? what is better, swap magic or crystal chip? its really important, it will determain what i would buy, thaw(the new tony hawk) or swap magic\crystal chip from the us(its the same price). tnx from ahead.
BTW
if i would buy chip, what are the reasons that can make the chip screwing up my station?
because i had a chip in my PS(i mean the first one) and this days, the machine is considered as r.i.p, the last game i remember playing on it is tony hawk 3 or 4(the one with the episode that you in england or something and you have a mission to hold on tail of elephent got lose), and i have a friend, that installed cip for his PS2, and the machine is totally dead. * im digging myself a bigger hole in each second that past away*, so in short- what should i do and what i shouldnt do if i want my PS2 to live forever while mod-chip is installed.
and on other matter- i dont have DVD burner yet, i wanted some recommanation on which one to buy and what things should i focus on- writing speed etc'.

A chips obviously better as you just stick the disc straight in.
Swap Magic is very good though, i have no complaints. As for region, go with US version if you country's telly system is NTSC.. if it's PAL then get the Euro PAL version.
See if you get what you need on-line, it's got to be way cheaper than those rip off prices

As for burners, go for Pioneer or NEC ... with those you can burn at a fast speed with no problems... with my Pioneer i always burn at 8x on cheap ass dvd+ media and never get coasters.
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

in mod-chip theres a quite nice offers. and i dont have much problem with the swap thingy. the last thing- what chip is offering that swap disc doesnt?(neside you can start palying imdietly).

Mod chips obviously. You dont care about regions, patches etc. Just burn, insert, play. Any game works
