Glad to hear it Splitscreen.
It's not all good news I expect. Yes I pay £50 a month for a 4mb line. No theres no limit. That's going down to £35 a month for a 10mb line.
But heres the catch:
I expect this is to fall inline with NTL which has a download cap. NTL will be merging soon, so this is just a step towards that.

I thought that the NTL line was _supposed_ to implement a download cap but that they don't enforce it.
Maybe I'm wrong.
I'm certainly not looking forward to this convergence between companies though.. heard bad things about NTL services and support.

tbh 2mb satisfies me more than enough. Waiting 1 hour for a CD to download is good enough for me The only thing I could do with is a decent upload speed. 25ks (unstable) is kinda frustrating when I want to upload stuff. I'd be happy with half meg upload since I dont do it that much

Of course NTL has a cap. It may be enforced rarely, but it's there.

Yea but its more of a deterrant since I dont know any1 who has been capped / given a warning etc. for over downloading and I know ppl who download constantly 24/7 without paying much attention to what is being grabbed.

yea well people I know really do download shit and get it FXP'd to them all the time. its like 95% + downlooadin a month. 700mb x 24 x 30 = a lot more than 3gb I dont download as much as I used to but I easily use more than 3gb just browsing the internet!
Uptime = 20 hours 12 minutes 21 seconds. Firefox is currently on 642.62mb admittedly 100mb of this was used downloadin a vid but ya catch my drift I easily exceed the limit too when you think of a film being 700mb. I easily download more than 5 films a month some of these more than 1CD and that goes past 3gb

This is to stop customers going to Bulldog which offers 8mb lines and monthly contracts and a introductory low price for a few months.

Yes Midget. But as I said, NTL and Telewest are joining forces as they're so heavily in debt. NTL has a 10mb line and it's capped. I would say that Telewest will apply that once they merge.

I disagree. They'll fall in line with NTL when they merge.

plus the cap will become more severe, NTL/BY dont have the resources to sell 10Mb at that price without capping it.
