The Chatterbox has nothing todo with the page being slow, its been optimized from the ground up to be like that. We arent really bathing in CPU power right now, so that could be your culprit for the page being slow. Server reinforcements are on their way tho, please try to hang on.
Would be nice to see a "popup" version of the chatbox, or maybe for the box to be on every forum page too, would be cool to have the "mini chat" feature while surfing
