For starters: the skin looks pretty slick. I was ok with previous skin so for me, there was no need for change, but it's good to see there's more going about in the dark rooms of the admins offices than the most obvious and essencial things:).

Though, excuse me for being a noob when I missed a sign somewhere (I'm the worse in reading), I have this little thing about this new skin; where is the link to download the nfo file?
It's not that I like to leech all of your nfo's, as a matter of fact, I barely download them as they're supposed to come with the releases, but since DEViANCE hasn't been the best in releasing nfo files, I was often still able to download it from here, instead of unpacking the archive and looking on the cd, just for the info...

What's the status about it?

well as far as i know on this subject, which isnt a great deal btw, you can still click the relevent rel and view the nfo files, (except Dev) as from what i've heard, specifically asked for there nfo's to be removed, after all having nfo's freely available, edited or not, is probably not a good thing for the scene, i know before there was a save .nfo feature, but im not sure if this feature will be returning any time soon, maybe someone else can clear this up Smile

I get stuff from people in real life too, without the nfo's. Therefore I would like to have it back.

Well, I can understand a little bit of DEViANCE's point, but than again....there are more pro's than contra's, not? Anyway, it's annoying to unpack and than mount a release utterly to get the nfo file, in order to have a proper share. So, in that cause they should at least include in in the archives, aside the bin and cue files.

As you now know why I to download the actual nfo files, I think you can see my point when I say that it's not enough for me that I can 'watch' them when I click on the link. So, I really hope the link returns, since it's very easy for when I got an old release who's nfo-less....heh

Agreed! Save .nfo files was one of the most important things for me on nforce.
It would be great if it was implemented again.

Hello.

Thanks for the useful site, first.

Second, I would like to get the ability to save .NFOs back as well. Here's why:

I like to archive everything with its respective NFO for future reference. Yet at times the files I get do not have the NFOs with them. In such cases, if the release is easily identifiable (i.e. there's only one release of the particular content in question) I used to get the NFO from NFOrce.

I'm not sure what point anyone might have against NFOs being available as downloadable text (after all, they're plain text files and thus are easy enough to fake if anyone feels like it, for whatever reason. I mean, the ASCII art is damned impressive, sure, but it's not a digital signature, right?), but this is why I'd like to see this feature back.

No. That's the whole point

It is like in his case: I need the fno file for a release to be proper (since it contains, sometimes critical, information about the release itself). And as I only use a small percent (perhaps even less than a 2 or 3%) as for what I offer, it would be a hell unpacking everything and extracting nfo file, since some of my source posters neither take the time extracting them, or just not include them (for some reason).

Yes, please bring the downloading of the nfo text files back. I was under the assumption that this was the point of nforce: to view and store information in relation to releases?

Please bring it back.
Don't make me type out the related URLs. With the text nfo, I could at least cut and paste the URL.
Better yet, bring back the clickable link to the "review" URL.

The sooner the better.

TIA

come on guys, the download-page was a simple php-script that sent the nfo as mime-type text. including the old savenfo.php in the new design shouldn't be more than a few seconds of work.

Thanks, guys. Really appreciate the easy nfo save.

Now....

Can you add a button for the related URL also ??
Easy URL access Really helps when determining the desirability of the file.

TIA

Well, I was happy with it for some time now, untill my source went offline. I'll spare you the details, but now I get much releases without nfo's (previously it happend with some unknown groups, but now it happens with all unknown groups). So, I'd go here and download the *.nfo, normally, but now I only get it in bare text.

This has two big problems: I don't know the *.nfo file name (for reloaded's releases it's always reloaded.nfo, but like I said, I'm talking about unknown/ not much known groups) and serials are censored on the text pages. And adding other serials won't make the nfo proper, so I just need to be able to download the origional nfo files.

Can this be done easily?

Thansk in advance

We cant give out uncensored NFOs unless, of course, you want to be without a source completely

If u can get a release, u can get the nfo Confused ...unless ur downloading off some completely toolish torrent site that removes the nfos or something...

I used to download from newsgroups, but not everyone seems to see the importance of an nfo to include it in their nzb's...or even upload. Now that one went offline, a friend of mine is filling me. He's a bit less on the rules (by including nfo's), so...

I know you can't show it on the main pages, but why can't you actually have them in your (downloadable) file?

Heh...I agree to that. But I have always been talking about 'little known group releases', from which posts and torrents show up days after it has been released. In 99% of the cases there's an nfo included, but certainly when a little experienced dude did the upload, he often forgets to add the nfo file to the nzb (I barely download whole group header lists, since uploading takes too much speed and grouops like boneless become way to big than).

With other words: cases that it happends are pretty rare, but it's very usefull to have the proper NFO's anyway. In this case I need the nfo from the FIFA 06 - AlcoholClone - NOGRP.
