yea, good-tutorials is where i learnt my PS skills . You just need to be creative and know what to tweak as u go through the tuts. almost always now my "tutorials" come out looking better than theirs

good tutorials really is a good place but they really dont have newbie content
Ive played around with flash but not adobe
same with pixel2life
or maybe im to tired and should try this shit in the morning but I dunno
it does have newbie content.. i started off using things like renders, wraps etc. mostly "filters". start off with something simple like "an abstract background". From here you can easily get to grips with what at least 1 or 2 filters do at a time. Do 20 of these and u'll have most of them coverd. next you can try and mix and match tutorials, i.e an advanced border, some good text and a funky background.
Try to stick away from "drawing" tutorials and ones that use tools like pen tool. Some of these require things like drawing pads and is really difficult without a mouse and the pen tool can be quite complicated but once it's done u'll be really good.
