haha lol it was a lucky hit as what he was doin was BS the stance he took was the crappest you could as all he had was slight range over the other guy and kicking wouldnt of worked and he left his guard over his forward leg completely open.... i know as i'm black belt kung fu but other than a bit of technique and agility/flexibility it is better to study something else. i tried krav maga once and damn if you wanna street fight well thats you thing.

imo, if you really wanna learn how to defend yourself, study kickboxing or boxing, all these martial arts like kung fu, jiu jutsu, taekwondo, aikido, karate etc. are nothing. they have a few flashy moves here and there, but a trained boxer would easily take out some karate master, as you dont waste time t study stances in boxing/kickboxing, you get to the core of fighting, strenght, speed, technique, stamina.

I've seen a supposed 'kung fu master' get his ass kicked twice, by the same guy, on the same night. It was hilarious.
The first time he though he was some badass, and the other guy (who I know, but we're not exactly friends) just headbutted him and he went straight down.
Second time, he got the guy to come outside, took his shoes off and started doing all these stupid stances. So the other guy just leapt on him and smashed his face against the wall. Broken nose and jaw, how fun!
Point is, most of these 'marshal arts' just make people arrogant. The only truely effective ones, as already said, are boxing and kickboxing.
