Quote:
THQ died a few years ago, but now it’s coming back. Nordic Games acquired the rights to the name and THQ’s library of titles, and it is rebranding itself today as THQ Nordic.
....
He added, “With this rebrand we are entering the next phase in our company’s evolution. As of now we have 23 game projects in development, 13 thereof have not yet been publicly announced, but are sure to be in the next months. Needless to say, the majority of these projects are based on former THQ owned IPs and franchises.”

He said, “The THQ Nordic brand is a combination of our Scandinavian and Austrian roots and our ongoing strategy to make great games and deals. Our philosophy behind continuing to expand upon the THQ Nordic brand starts with fun games – that’s what attracted us to the THQ catalog. Look at Darksiders, as an example. It’s been a few years since the release of Darksiders II and that growing community remains very active – very hungry –for what will come next.

Well... THQ as a name has much more value than 'Nordic Games'.

I just wonder why it took them so long.

There's a rumor going around about DS3 since some website put up a preorder page for it:

Quote:
"Darksiders 3" was reportedly going to be launched December 2016, as online retail store base.com is taking pre-orders of the game for 50 pounds.
The website listed Dec. 31, 2016 as the release date for "Darksiders 3." However, the new owner of the game series, Nordic Games, is silent about the matter.

I wonder if they'll take it in a different artistic direction since Joe Madureira is now working for a different company.

Why did they delayed Darksiders3 so much? Was looking forward to the entire story of the 4 horsemen, not just two Sad

Maybe because they have no idea of what Vigil wanted to do with the story.

Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. Best DF was that one (just my opinion)

And all those sims....MiG 29, F22, Armored Fist and so on...

Joint Operations was pretty cool back in the day.

It's a shame Novalogic games were ridden with hackers.

DF1 was my first FPS actually. I played BHD as well but I didn't have a machine to properly run it back then, but it was pretty good I think. Haven't tried any of the rest since. How the fuck was NovaLogic still afloat (or is? Now that they have some capital to use from the sell) after so many years not releasing anything?

Anyway, Nordic Games haven't done shit to garner any faith in them from me, I would have hoped the IPs went to someone else.

Honestly I can't imagine what this deal could bring to us (most likely only disappointments), but it would be nice indeed to see a return to the semi-realistic military formula of their classics.

I enjoyed all of them really, especially the first Delta Force which felt damned innovative and immersive for that time. Not hardcore, but not herpa dorito either, it was the kind of sweet spot that was lost as soon as the Cowa-dudebros-friendly games took over. (Tachyon was another good underlooked, non-military one). Make Voxels great again! Laughing Very Happy

http://gematsu.com/2017/07/thq-nordic-announce-original-open-world-rpg-new-entry-mysterious-horrific-ip-gamescom-2017
Quote:
THQ Nordic has announced the lineup of games it is bringing to Gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany later next month.

The full list of games includes:
Elex – The short breakdown: Journalists and players alike can look forward to playing a near-to-final version of Elex, the open world RPG from Piranha Bytes. Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 17th.
Battle Chasers: Nightwar – Battle Chasers: Nightwar was nominated for the “Best RPG of E3” award and is shaping up nicely for its multi-platform release on October 3. For the first time, you can get your hands on the game on the Nintendo Switch.
SpellForce 3 – The multiplayer beta of SpellForce 3 is now running and has already seen thousands of players contributing providing valuable feedback to the development process. At Gamescom, the focus will be on SpellForce 3’s deep single-player campaign.
Aquanox: Deep Descent – First-person underwater shooter Aquanox: Deep Descent will show its campaign for the first time to journalists and players alike.
The Guild 3 – For The Guild 3 you cannot only expect to see an improved version and advanced gameplay, but we will also have a surprise announcement to make.
Wreckfest – The recently announced cooperation with Bugbear Entertainment for Wreckfest allows the game to make a pit stop at gamescom where it will show off a raft of new content for upcoming updates.

THQ Nordic is also planning two new game announcements:

  • New Announcement #1 – The first new announcement is a brand new original IP. This open world RPG is set in a unique universe and will be a post-apocalyptic kung-fu fable.
  • New Announcement #2 – The second new announcement is a new instalment of a well-known, mysterious and horrific IP.

Really liked it personally would love a sequel the dlcs didn't do much me for me though as they only focused on the ( repetitive) gameplay part and not the stephen king like story which was the main draw of the game for me.

BIOMUTANT - open-world-post-apocalyptic-kung-fu-action-RPG.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
