In the OP, I tried to express that I don't want to see it. It's not entirely true. I can't listen to it. The songs are so bad.

Just not watch it? Not sure the dilemma here, unless someone has clockwork orange'd you with you tied down and eyelids taped open forcing you to watch it.

It's true, but why you so mad about it.

There are worse things going on in this world right now.

For instance, ... there's a god damn country being bombed. Rolling Eyes

We are all getting old and "Music now-a-days" huh?

Not Sure your age, but we had Bjork, Spin Doctors, Slipknot, Gwar, NIN (wore fishnet sleeves and eyeliner black lipstick..outlandish for the time), Marilyn Manson, etc. Everyone said the same thing about that was the age we are now, back then.
OR go back a decade more: The Cure, Hair Bands (feminine looking hair metal bands in spandex and leggings with tons of makeup and poofy hair like a high school yearbook chicks photo)
And for more on the nose: Cindy Lauper, Madonna, Elton John, Boy George...

They are all replaced with same-same, but different in it's music you dont like, with trend looks that you haven't grow up around to think is cool now.

I don't mind musicians wearing "cool" outfits, but again, this looks like they just robbed grandma's wardrobe and just put the weirdest shit they could find on with little to no thought behind it, there's no theme etc. As for "shock-value" the only return here is really only how tasteless and lame it looks.

Same for the ones I listed I think.
Only difference between slipknot and those on stage in that pic is one is halloween cringe, the other is just trend cringe.
In the age of video games now, 'goth/industrial/scarecore' isnt the tend like slipknot had in its day. Now it's FortNite/GTA V/Forza 5 horizons/social media "Goofy dressed main character" trend (Sort of back to 80's 'random clothes is random' style)..but a trend is a trend for both.

Tons of examples going back decades, Just a sample from the most popular of them:
 Spoiler:

Sound more like the saying: I dont care if they wear cool outfits. But only if it's what I consider cool.
Which we are too old to dictate cool anymore. BUT we will continue to say we are, just like every middle aged group did before us saying "Cool was cool when we was young, now kids are just dressing stupid and making bad music". As we each individually think we are still 'in on' what is cool and not getting old and out of touch with keeping up with trends..

Even the ridiculous style hard rock bands had in the 1980's had a theme and a very recognizable style, so did the synth bands, the punk bands, the goth bands, the black metal bands, and obviously the fans dressing in similar styles.

This is just random shit, pick whatever from grandma's wardrobe that looks ridiculous, it's not a theme or a style.

And sure, we are old people complaining because we are used to something else, so what? We complain about new games all the time, their retarded UI's and whatnot, we see it from a different perspective because we have experience.

Pop bands were historically always the worst i guess, because what style should something so generic be + it must have a certain mass appeal. it will just be something totally goofy or ""crazy"" (but at the same it can't be too offensive). Something like Punk or EBM will be way more defined.

That was my point...
'Random = teh funnah and da cool' IS the trend now. So you dont find it trendy, because it wasn't a trend you grew up around to be molded around, unlike the youth today that is.

And I didnt say you couldn't complain or it was unnatural. Was clarifying its because we are old, not because the trend isn't cool for those that are not old, like us. This whole thread is 'old' people complaining a show for 'not old people', did not meet the expectations of entertainment the old people wanted. Razz
Don't watch stuff not for you, and then complain how its not for you and you dont get it.
I personally feel one way to be less 'old' is to do less mocking about what kids now-a-days are doing. Because when I was a kid that was a instant point of "Fuck you are getting old and lame old man" when someone did it to us. It only points out you still worry about what is cool, without being in the 'cool' anymore. Even I do it sometimes, it's a natural habit that's hard to break of getting old and not being 'with it', while still thinking you MUST be kinda with it still (because self admittance of fading relevancy is hard). It's hard to hold your tongue on saying something that boils down to 'back in my day'. But it holds as much water on current 'cool' as the old people 'back in your day' saying it to you then. They thought they had more say in it declaring it 'cool, or not cool' than they did. Just like we do now.

I think it just the pop theme that sucks when i think of it and look through your images too.. it's a music style that never had any style, because its generic and undefined (unlike something like Punk or EBM) it's aimed for mass appeal so it can't be too provocative, so it'll just end up goofy. so maybe it's not exactly new what they're doing, it's just goofy turned up to 11.

It's not really the same though. All of those people were apart of specific eras, doing things that hadn't been done before.

If I asked you what a typical 1980s metal band looked like, you'd have a good idea of what I would be referring to. If I asked you what a 2010+ metal band looked like, it'd either be the same thing or you'd have no way of discerning it.

Going from 1910 > 1930, the style, clothing etc is different. Same from 1940 > 1950 > 1960 > 1970 > 1980 > 1990 and so on. Very iconic. Now it's all derivative. It's kind of like art where post modernism is just whatever anyone can think up, any old crazy shit, because everything's been done already.
