I think I was in my mid/late 20's when I joined...now I'm 45 
And I'm exactly the same, nerd dad. I am the type of dad my kids friends brag about how no ones PC is better than theirs they go right to "Nah, my dads has yours beat I'm pretty sure".
My kids like/dislike (mixed emotions) that I know all the meme's because its cool when they reference them, but somehow cringe when I do...lol
Or when they want to try a game to see if they like it ask me if I can 'find' it for them as they dont trust random torrents themselves.
Being the nerd dad is cool, I mean you could be a WAY worse type of dad, right?
