No thread about this?

I quite enjoyed the pilot.

gf watches it. she likes it. i watched a few eps from this season. story is very generic. fight scenes are bad. like real bad. but some nice effects and some nice story elements here and there. It's something to watch if you've got nothing.

I like the main character and the cases are fun affter a few eps. It starts up slow, but it's above average overall (which is good enough now). The mystery is also OK, but not yet impressive after 8 eps.

Have they reached the stage where they need to include some romance drama cliches that drag on for much longer than needed or whats tolerable?

There were some romantic drama but nothing very exaggerated. And they have introduced a love intrest for the werewolf friend of main hero.
The series is pleasant to watch but is nothing that will make you hold your breath for next episode.

Holy shit this show is bad, i don't know why i keep watching it. I'm only at episode 15 of season 1 though.

Ok, i like the characters, but there is no plot, awkward and really fucking stupid face transformations just to show Grimm the monsters at the most convenient times. His captain/the king is supposed to be something, but for some ridiculous reason he doesn't see that guy. And don't even get me started on the CGI. And the monsters attitudes feels REALLY forced. They are basically all human with superpowers and downsides Laughing

They show what they are under stress. Since Grimm is a cop, they show what they are during interrogation. His boss is very cool, so he can keep it controlled.

They explained it in an episode. Grimm can see them for what they are even when they don't want him to. Nothing has been more specified than that, and it's up to us to interpret that as we like. You see the changing in 10 000 different scenarios, far from just stress.

So to me it doesn't look like they are taking their show too seriously and just going with what they like despite what they've said in the past.

Monroe himself has explained several times how it works. The monsters can choose to show themselves, other than that they can't be seen. Grimm however can see their true form also when they are under stress.

They can choose to show themselves, but people can't see it. I'm just talking about the ridiculous coincidences where they show themselves when Grimm turns his head towards them. Think what you want, but its absolutely not just during stress.

Just finished the first season and i've got absolutely no interest in continuing this show. I'm out.

Nick rather lets Hank go insane and lie about what he saw than just bring him in? WHo the hell writes this garbage show? But he proceeds to tell his girlfriend just like that.

When his mother came in during the finale i just thought this is just getting too stupid.

Perhaps once upon a time will be a tiny bit smarter written so i can enjoy it. I doubt it, but i'll guess its worth a try.

I loved it in the first season but the second one and especially the whole Juliette arch is so fucking stupid that I got the last 3 episodes sitting on my HD and I just can't force myself to watch them becuase I KNOW she is the central role in them and I hate her guts - the charcter itself is dumb and additionally the actress playing her is so god damn annoying.. Ugh...

One thing I disliked when watching it some time ago, was how ridiculously bad the creatures looked. Has that improved at all?

Hey, this is kinda good. I am at episode 7. It is one of those shows that are not annoying, they don't require your full attention and they have lots and lots of episodes to watch. I cast it on my Chromecast on my TV when working out, for example. And I push myself to keep working out until the end of the episode, sometimes the end of the second episode, heh ...

As a show it is a procedural, monster of the week kind of show. I guess it was inspired by Supernatural and Buffy the VS?

I am interested to see when/if the show goes deeper and gets darker. Also, as the years passed by, maybe the effects got better? Sometimes they are good, other times not. I think they are overusing the face effects. I like the main actors.
