Hey, I was thinking of re-visiting Paris end of March but I'm really not sure regarding the riots etc. Is there any information available regarding the current situation?

Give me tips. Shouldn't be more than 5-6 hours (by car) away from Frankfurt. I checked bruges, but the hotel prices were just too high, just a short weekend trip towards end of march.
Just checked agian, actually Bruges isn't that expensive
Hmm Prague seems to be nice too!

Hey, if Bruges isn't too far for you, why not go to the city that is not only closer but also:
- is the hometown of classic painters such as Rubens, Van Dyck, Breughel (old & young) and Jordaens
- is the hometown of fashion designers such as Bikkembergs, Demeulemeester, Van Beirendonck and Van Noten
- is the diamond capital of the world
- has been voted to have the most beautiful train station in the world
Spoiler: | |
and a lot more.
The cathedral also got new lights for its 500th(!) birthday last year.

Antwerp is cool, I quite like the city (half my family is from there)
BUT! I do think Brugge is a lot nicer. More touristy and I'd even say cleaner. Antwerp, take one side street and it already feels like the Ghetto in most places. :>
But yeah, train/plane is the better way to get into Belgium... fucking traffic congestion everywhere.
Asked the wife which places she liked best in Belgium and she came up with Bruges (well she said: that medieval waffle place).

I really enjoyed Brussels last year! So a recommendation from me on that.
Enjoy your trip, Pumpy!

I have that with Brussels the difference being that Brussels is a ghetto, while Antwerp looks like one But no, I don't fully agree, the city has lots of great architecture everywhere, if people only looked up once in a while
Bruges is nice, I admit, but it's a one trick pony. We have history ànd other stuff, including waffles but also Antwerp Hands and Elixir d'Anvers
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
