It smells? Hair are dead cells and should smell neutral maybe consider washing your face once in a while after tossing the salad

You have to go back a number of years and be conceived again, maybe this time with glorious beard growing genes.
Failing that adapt your beardstyle to what you have. Brush the bald parts over, don't go full lumberjack, stuff like that.
When it comes to pharmaceuticals, stuff with Minoxidil might be helpful (helps weak hair grow), but it has to be used for at least a year, regularly, and it actually might not work for beard hair. It's confirmed only for scalp hair.

The itchy & scratchy sensation thankfully only affects the initial days, once the beard acquires manliness the body just adapts and you feel like wearing nothing at all.

Haha yeah, likewise. It's been a while since I've had a long beard, nowadays I'm more into keeping a controlled short full-beard that doesn't make me look like a rabbi xD

I don't have much of a beard. I let it grow (1 or 2 months) until I get irritated by the hairs and then I weed it out with a tondeuse.

If I were your daddy you wouldn't have to worry about that.
I still can be your daddy though, if you ask nicely
