You know... there is this urge to see new movies and going back to an established and beloved universe can be quite satisfying if done well. Else "new" movies with similar topics always seem to be called "oh this is just a rip off of X". The concept behind a quiet place was nice and maybe there are more interesting stories left to tell there. Maybe it's unnecessary to continue witht he same family. But I'd rather have this than another bird box, which was similar to this but rather... stupid.

The urge inside me to view alien movies in confined spaces made me enjoy Life probably more than it deserves, but how often am I supposed to re-watch the alien movies? So... at this point I'd even appriciate a Life 2 Laughing

Worst part about this movie is that it's here to explain everything. The dumb movie audience need everything to be explained. Where did the creatures come from, why, etc...

I agree, we don't need this sequel/prequel.

I don't agree the audience is dumb for wanting resolution/explanation. I *adored* the first film and my first reaction was "I hope we get a sequel so we find out exactly what these things are and where they came from!" Not everything has to be some tantalising unanswered mystery that leaves you guessing Very Happy

It's cause the first one was a hit. And studio demanded a sequel in a world of sequels. Where do you go where the last story ended? Oh let's ignore the rules and laws set for ourselves. Add more shit and let's build on the world we built because we now have money.

Matrix 2 and 3.
Bigger budget, bigger ideas, same weak writing.

Exactly, which most likely means well get 3 or 4 more sequels explaining shit.

It's not what they tell but how they tell it. Could be the stupidest shit. In the hand of skilled directors even the biggest cheese can be refreshing.
