I have a Sony KD55X8000E

When I play games on it at 1080p it's great. It's a 4K TV though. When I play any game at 1440p/4K it shits itself and everything feels like it's running at ~20FPS.

Any idea why this happens? All of the settings seem to be correct (also running at 60hz)

I know it's not the games causing the issue because 1440p/60FPS works fine on my monitor.

PS. I hate this fucking TV

My friend had a similar issue and changing the HDMI setting from enhanced to standard on his Sony TV worked. 4K@60 via HDMI is tricky is annoyingly tricky.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Just checked and it's already on standard Sad

On the flip side, did setting it to Enhanced do anything? It helps with Android TV content but maybe worth a shot. These settings are such a mess that you should try anything and everything before giving up.

Definitely not a cable issue though as those "High Speed HDMI cables" are just gimmicks. (Unless you have a really, really old cable)

Can you post your W10 monitor display settings? Is the refresh rate 60Hz there?

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Try setting Nvidia display output to YUV 4:2:0, it should reduce the bandwidth if there is problem with it (on the other side, it will reduce color resolution but it may be unnoticeable).

edit: Now I see it doesn't offer 420, only 444 (full color) and 422 (full pixel sampling on luma and subsampling on chroma), so pick 422
