dunno, weather should be fine, im not seeing the point visiting a waterpark right in front of the ocean (and more recent google reviews say its kinda dirty and worn there, im not willing to pay 26 bucks for that Razz). water temperature is 17°C already. but im keeping that waterpark still in my mind, weather should be a little more nasty on saturday though

If you're into Gaudí, visit La Pedrera and the Parc Güell, a must see. Also, if you're into history (spanish civil war) you can visit the Plaça Sant Felip Neri, dozens of people were shot by a firing squad and you still can see the holes in the wall. The area itself is beautiful even if the square has a grim past. Ocean? Better visit Marbella beach, avoid Barceloneta beach and WTC hotel surroundings. Barceloneta area itself is nice, you can walk through the streets and find some nice seafood restaurants (best paella in town can be enjoyed there probably).
If you're into night life, go to Plaça Real. Having a beer while being pestered by all kind of tramps, circus amateurs, streetwise musicians and whatnot has its charm - no joking, people here we're used to avoid them with nice words after hearing their rocambolesque stories Very Happy some even give them a coin or two. There's a lot of nightclubs there as well. Also, if you have time, go lose yourself through the Born. Beautiful streets, nice bars, great restaurants - albeit a bit expensive.

Enjoy Barcelona! You still can have a great staying here - before they kill it completely due to massive tourism Razz

Fixed again Very Happy
Seriously, watch your wallet and don't play the "where's the ball under the cup" game on the Ramblas Very Happy

I'd say take a stroll through the city, like from the Ramblas to the cathedral. The park only has a small part that's actually pretty (the first section), and I don't think its free anymore either.
All in all, I think it's pretty overrated city, but don't let me spoil your holiday Laughing

Check out the La Rambla, if you can forget that Younes Abouyaaqoub killed 13 people and injuring at least 130 there not even a year ago.

hang around the central station, buy overpriced bubbles of heroin and do them with gypsies behind the WC door. that one works in every city

Thx guys, or lets say the ones which replied useful stuff Wink im fully aware that Barcelona has one of the highest thief/pickpocket rates. I will be leaving almost everything in my apartment, still cant believe how people could fall for the streetgamblers tricks and im usually not talking to any trannies/crackwhores etc

Haha yeah, I went there in July 2006 right after Italy won the WC, every single street had people shouting 24/7 the po-po-po-po chant with flags waving, official shirts and all the goodies. I liked the city, but the constant hooligan-ish atmosphere was truly overwhelming and honestly very embarrassing, I can perfectly understand your frustration Crying or Very sad Laughing

Damn right you italians are loud people Laughing and since I work in a pub I can tell you that nowadays Italian is the new flavour in town. Last year were norwegians, two years back were germans, three years back were french... there's a trend going on every year. I'm not frustrated tbh, you guys make awesome food and, as a rule of thumb, are more gentle than some of the aforementioned nationalities.

was a nice trip though, no rip offs, nothing got stolen, but the water was still a bit too cold

the way home as annoying as fuck, seems like some french dude went on a strike, my plan missed its slot cause it was a bit too late at the gate -> 2 hour delay all together. still could have gotten my connecting flight but it was cancelled... arguying with lufthansa what to do, they offered two options: waiting list on the next regular flight 4 hours later (with 6 persons impossible) or fixed seats on the one after that (5,5 hours later). both completely bullshit. after declining that they offered tickets on a train which is payed by lufthansa directly (almost the same time as the fixed next flight...). took another 10 mins arguying with them to get them finally give up and giving us universal tickets for the fast travel train (ice). in the end only about 45min later at my car than it would have taken with the normal flight which got cancelled (ok it was a bit of bullshit booking but it was cheap, ~2hrs at the airport for another 50 min flight Very Happy)

btw barca is a shithole, but thats every bigger southern european city too but atleast not as crowded already as i thought, met nice people, did visit the parc güell etc, found some really nice restaurants and small bars. all in all not as expensive as expected too. sure all those pakistani selling you beer and stuff want higher prices, but just ignore them or strictly say low prices, they will sell it to u for that in the end Razz but i cant understand that the police doenst care about all those sellers with the fake stuff
