I would suggest getting 2 sticks of the same brand/speed/size, this is the obvious "best choice".. plus, if you have a dual channel board this is the only way you will be able to use the dual channel functionality! Plus personally I would go for Kingstone, not for any reason, thats just my prefered brand.

okay so i got kingston 512mb, 400mhz, and another question. i got my old 256mb/333mhz. so i should have them both, though the new will run at 333mhz., or install new and throw away the old. basically, the question is: more ram at less speed, or less ram faster? Smile

my shitty rig:
athlon 64 3500+
4gb geil ultra4 800mhz
asus x1650xt

if you put the 256 also in it it will go gayass slow. kick the 256 out and put the 512 in. Smile

In any case, make sure the RAM speed matches the FSB of your CPU. A CPU with a 333MHz CPU will be slowed down by 400MHz memory.

If you do get two different types of RAM and the system won't boot, try swapping the DIMM slot of the modules.
