People laugh at the fact that Bioware failed to deliver a game to match certain expectations, when in fact it's a cry situation since gaming industry is slowly sliding to "'tardlandia"
I've long since stopped caring about the "advertisement vs reality" circlejerking (it's pointless, in any industry, as I said a few pages back) and let me tell you, I'm enjoying games much more this way.
I just try it, buy it if I like it, uninstall if not. Thanks to steam refunds, you can do this even if denuvo is in the way.
I think that if your expectations are reasonable, instead of blown out of proportions by false ads and exagerated hype, you will be less stressed and enjoy games more. Just my two cents tho. I know there's a lot of people out there that spend more time jerking off to frame-by-frame comparison videos than playing games. Whatever floats your boat, I won't judge.

To be fair here tho, it isn't actually Bioware that made this "game". So maybe we should stop with that and just call it what it is, EA being EA.
Was Inquisition made by the "main" team or by the same team as this?
I've yet to try the game, but from most reviews it seems to suffer from the same (or at least similar) problems: focus on square mileage rather than design quality of levels, bland "to-do list" quests, generic character interactions in order to allow for all "combinations" of romantic relationships, etc.
As I said, yet to try the game, but it smells of "da: inquisition in space"
Well, it does feel sort of like DA:I.
But I can clearly remember a SHIT-TON of ultra crappy side quests in the very first Mass Effect.
I'm guessing a lot of people forgot about all those hollow bland planets where you had to go and press a single button in one of those endless identical hallways - or kill a specific enemy - only to travel all the way back to the Citadel and complete the quest.
Is that the kind of golden age Mass Effect people are dying to see again?

What false ads? All people have been discussing is how accurate the ads have been with their shitty animation, poor voice work, hamfisted agendas and so on. And who is stressed? It's quite fun, laughing at how poor things are in this game. The opposite of stress. I have 2 people in my office in stitches over some of the GIFs. But this is only until those who can't handle criticism arrive with their thinly veiled insults, and then the thread turns to shit again.
But back to it...
Reasonable expectation #1:
I expect the $60 game from EA/Bioware ($100 where I live) to have decent character and facial animation. Why is this reasonable? Because they're a publishing + development giant with a long history of creating games. One of the longest histories. Because $60/$100 should entitle anyone who buys a game at that price to a certain level of quality. I want a world that is immersive in every way, and in a game that relies heavily on conversations, I want interactions I have with characters to be somewhat believable.
What is unreasonable about that? Especially coming from 3 previous games where the expectations had already been set. No ME game was perfect, but they were all better than this tripe.
Meanwhile:
Spoiler:
Should I even bother listing out writing? Dialogue? Voice work? Gameplay? The downgrade? Would it matter? Doubtful.
Have you actually played the game or are you focusing on the same handful of targeted "memes" to evaluate how the game actually plays?
Laughed at these gifs, laughed at the witcher 3 ones too, same for the ones from FO4. Why people get so triggered at others laughing at some silly gifs I'll never understand

Why do people get so triggered by imagining people being triggered I'll never understand.
