I am considering to overclock my CPU from 3.4.0GHz to 4.0GHz but I don't have hardcore cooler, just regular fan...

Is that good idea or I need to get pro cooler first?

I think you don't even need a cooler at all for that.

Well, before you buy a new cooler, just try overclocking slowly with your current one. (slowly = increase by 100Mhz steps)

Temps should not go above 75-80°C under stress. Use something like Prime95 for 30-60min and check the temps after overclocking.
And then like play games and surf the web to see if the CPU is stable in everyday work too.


But to make it short: I doubt the standard cooler will be able to cool enough the increase of ~600MHz.

I would remove Denuvo from the CPU code first. Should reach a higher clock then.

4ghz should be doable at stock volts, or even lower.
