Hello boys,
I need to edit a MP4 video. The video is fine when read with VLC, but with other programs it either as no sound, or the image is upside down.

Not a single conversion works, and several pro programs don't seems to do the trick either.

How could it be solved? Thanks!

Demux the mp4 1st, make sure you have the offset for the audio when remuxing it again.

Edit: Btw vlc comes with its own codecs, you may simply not have the right codecs installed to do editing with some other program.

Thanks so much for the answer. Very Happy

But I just chose the easy way out:

1)Separate the audio track into a MP3.
2)Load the program that ran it 180° without sound and flip it 180°.
3)Add the mp3 as the soundtrack.
4)Convert that bitch into .avi
5)Voilà

That's what you gotta do when cunts make their speech tape with a fucking iPad.

Anyway, thanks again Smile

Maybe it was problem with the container. You could try to remux it to MP4 again, but using ffmpeg's libmp4v2 library which produces more compatible files:

ffmpeg -i problematic_file.mp4 -acodec copy -vcodec copy output.mp4

Anyway I am happy for you that you found a solution.
I would like to see your x-axis flipped video and hopefully lossless (transcoding) results. Smile
