So i've been thinking about upgrading my Sapphire 280 X vapor-X to a Gtx 1060 or 1070

My monitor supports 1920x1080 but i do downsample when possible and future proofing is always nice.

I've been eyeing the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G but its pretty expensive 532,90 €
so whats the wisest choice i haven't been following this GPU stuff for a couple of years so i'm pretty out of the loop.

P.S
What would one ask for a used Sapphire 280 X vapor-X these days as it would be going into a system i'm building for a friends christmas present.

Specs:

Cpu: i5 4670k
psu: XFX pro 750

Well, start by your PSU(which is it) and even more important: will it fit in your PC case(gaming X 1070, specifically)?

Yes, also tell what CPU you have.

The 1070 will be a investment even if you use 1920x1080 besides DSR can be modified to be 40x instead of 4x far as I'm aware that still works at least although 2x, 4x or 8x are probably the better choices instead of going totally overkill. Very Happy

Doubt the power draw will be a major issue unless it's some no-name 200 or 300w PSU though the CPU can play a role depending on how taxed the GPU is and how CPU dependent the actual game is.

EDIT: Of course depending on pricing (Which I have little information on.) the 1060 is a good choice too.

For 1080p its amazing. Some downsampling works too but not 4k 60 fpa in new games
