|
 |
I am using g400 mouse on steelseries qc small mouse pad.
keyboard is cherrymx black switches touchboard (just happened to get it for free new some time year ago)
Spoiler: | |
First - I've noticed that the desk edge really gets into the wrists and kinda cuts off the blod flow.. and second - the desk gets really messy in place where I keep my wrist. generally its all good and fine but I think it could be a bit more comfortable.
Any idea if using wrist rest is ok ? Cloth or rubber?
I searched a bit and found stuff like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Glorious-Gaming-Wrist-Pad-Rest/dp/B00V5AXPTW
Seems to be well made. Have stupid name and is cloth so should let skin breath.
my keyboard is rather narrow so probably longer wrist rest would cover for it and mouse. or I would need to get two shorter ones. Anyway, this thing is kinda pricey

Not sure if it's wortth the price, but I really liked the wristpad I was using with my old keyboard. Will look like shit after some time though, if you eat/drink in front of the screen and during summer there will be sweat too.

dafuq?
Can't you simply push the monitor + speakers ALLLLL the way back, even bring the desk a bit forward from the wall if necessary and then push the keyboard and mouse forward so your forearms are on the table too?
I'll post some pics of my ghetto setup tomorrow

Why exactly is having the case on the desk stupid?
Also depending on your room, putting the case under the desk and in some corner might reduce the cooling capabilities quite a bit.
And as i have a carpet in my room, putting the case on it would be stupid.

na it wont be stupid on carpet cause your psu is not on the botttom. but it makes much more space on your desk, just try it, its way more comfortable. just put a usb hub on the desk and you never need to touch your tower again (unless you are using optical discs, but thats way too 2000 like)

You should really stop writing shit you have no idea about and stop insulting other people and their taste.
Thank you very much.

everyone can do it as they want to but it's really a myth that a case should be on the desk.
if you got a normal carpet there is no problem at all with more heat or dirt in the case.
of course it shouldn't be a carpet like this

I have the case on the floor for years (on a rug) and never had a problem, didn't even think about it that it could be a problem.
But if i had a case with lots of lights i would make some room on the desk, but as it's only a simple case it's good where it is.

Besides, there is plenty of space as it is even without moving back monitor. Keyboard and mouse can be pushed sure. But then my elbows are in the air. That chair unfortunately (even though it is super comfy and Its finally a chair I don't sweat in) do not have height adjustable armrests and I never played that way. It's kinda weird. Not sure if I prefer this method.
I kinda like the way it is but just need to buy some rests or cloth pad to put on the edge of the desk. I will just try it with eh towel or something rather than spending for this bullshit. |
Isn't it uncomfortable for your legs? I had a desk like that and I had pain in my legs because I couldn't move/stretch them. (while typing/using the mouse, obviously I could move away when not using it...)
I do not think a wrist rest will help much, you need proper support for the arm, which means a better desk and/or chair...

Case under my desk on carpet coz it pulls cold icy air in from vent behind it. Feet can get a bit cold, but I have rigged a bypass circuit into my 1080, which outputs 5-12v to my electric slippers, so the more I game, my feet get cosier.

I absolutely LOVE the Trust Bigfoot gel mouse pad: on my second one right now: http://www.trust.com/en/product/16977-bigfoot-mouse-pad-black
Don't have ANY wrist pain at all and it's also dirt cheap to buy. My arms are on my table just up to my elbows and I don't experience any sort of pain in them.

Seems like you need either a taller desk or a shorter chair... probably a taller desk then

Use lighter mice, people!
That MX518 is heavy, I used to have it years ago.

I'm using this mouse: https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-CENTROPHORUS-2000-Gaming-Buttons-Weight/dp/B00HTK1NCS
Has weights inside which you can remove. The surface texture is rough so you have to get used to it. If you can't then this mouse is not for you.
EDIT: The lighting cannot be turned off either, sadly. So it'll glow even if you turn your computer off.
