I currently work as a sysadmin/hardware technician. The job itself is fulfilling so to say, I learned A LOT here. However, the money has been the same for two years now and it's really, absolutely not a lot, compared to other companies and it does not show any signs of improvement, quite the contrary, to my fears. We were three guys in our department but one guy left (he was a database administrator/help desk oriented on software such as MS Outlook for team leaders). Most of the stuff he did was related to formatting files and loading them in the database. Real attention to detail was required and a lot of his procedures are very detailed. Now, since he left, this stuff has piled up on me and my other colleague and to be honest, I've fallen behind on MY work such as back-ups (automated now), maintenance...hardware stuff. There's a network switch with PoE I need to install and it's been gathering dust on my desk for weeks now. I need to add more RAM to a voice gateway and you can see where this is going. In any case, it's clear I can't stay here longer since there's way too much stuff I need to do which is outside of my area of expertise and to be honest I never signed up for because he used to be paid almost double than me and I got exactly fuck all since he left. I'm looking for jobs and I was wondering if it would be a smart move to start in a job which is below what I'm doing now but paid much better. I have no idea about advancing in hierarchy at this company but it can't be worse than it is now (there isn't any advancing). I'm thinking of getting the lesser but better paid job for a while until I find a sysadmin job which doesn't require me to do the same work for two people. I'm not sure I can resist much longer as it is right now because I'm losing my mind because everyone is asking why are things taking so long etc and you can see that in my interactions with people, I'm always angry, apathetic and I feel like slipping into a depression which I really don't wanna because I finally found a girl and it was going good for a while but that cunt quit. What would you do?

If you like it there talk to the higher power and explain to them what's bothering you and see if it gets resolved(ask for better payment, whatever you want). If they decline leave, i mean you have the studies and exp, is not like you can't find something better.
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

good luck claude, was supposed to be sys admin at Lloyds, I ended up doing a 3 person job. Admin/phone and emergency systems shit/and fraud support. No matter what you do I bet you will eventually end up doing more than your fair share when holding a sys admin job.
Oh they called my title, Branch system Administrator fucking joke more like slave man of will do anything administrator.
Needless to say I left that place like a nervous wreck.

I would seriously consider the new option, it sounds like you're being undervalued and routinely overworked at the same time which is a very stressful combo. Work is work, but that's definitely no bueno.
As HIz mentioned, perhaps you could try to talk to your boss first, clarify the situation once and for all, and eventually if he/she's doesn't show any signs of reasonableness.. Alt-F4
