If you live in Europe, it will take some cunning though, because I looked into those "small/micro entreprise" grant's, and the strings attached are pretty fucking bad.
But play the game, because bullshitting yourself out of a 18.500€ (at least here in Belgium) proper fund minimum deposit, is close to impossible, when all you got are idea(l)s.
A shoutout to the barely belgian banks here, good fucking job screwing young entrepreneur over too. I know you'll be there at every corner you fucking greedy cunts.

Free market, local entrepreneurship, yayyyyyy!
EDIT: My dad, a MD, who passed away in 92, in the late 80's, had not trouble propping up his practice.
My mother still tells me how easy it was for him or her, an unskilled drugstore worker, to find a job then.
I'm aware times have changed, of course, and I'm not trying to stir any pathos here, really. But what went so fucking wrong?

If it is easy for unskilled people to get jobs, then that means they get a good salary. That's bad for the corporations, they'd rather bring in lots of skilled and unskilled workers, that drives salaries down and real estate up, while ballooning the markets, counter-acting the low birth rate.
This makes sense, right?

Why go for a BVBA straight away? Have you looked into an S-BVBA or an eenmanszaak (sole proprietor)?
I get that the legal security of a BV is a nice thought, but unless you actually require massive investment, there's nothing you can't do as a sole proprietor. Means you can register your company, get a proof of concept or whatever you need to get more investment. And from there you can just let the SP be usurped by a BVBA later.
An S-BVBA is an even better solution, minimum capital of €1. You just have to make sure you have a solid business plan.

I doubt he started a BVBA. That starter capital has always been a requirement. In fact, 30 - 40 years ago the figure was higher, which is why there are so many relatively old VOFs.
It used to be a requirement here in NL too, but some years ago they got rid of it so now you only need a "capital" of €0,01. Goes for many countries actually. In Belgium they didn't abolish it completely and instead created this S-BVBA.

Economy was good, there was a big need for manual labor, unskilled people had job opportunities everywhere. Now economy is bad, there is uncertainty regarding work load and orders, many manual jobs have been taken over by robuts, there are a lot of people looking for any kind of job, so it's tougher to find a job for unskilled people.
It's a cycle, the same thing (or perhaps even worse) happened in NL in the 80's. No jobs, too many people looking for a job.
