Left the fucking toolbox in front of the house and forgot about it. Its gone..... i fucking hate my lack of attention to things...
Over us 600 and special tools gone. Ill just fucking put a cover on the car. Im done for a while.

Yeah sadly with the way things are these day's that's not too surprising, sorry about the loss though unfortunately I guess it's going to be next to impossible to get it back.
(One of my friends recently had put his bike next to the front door of his house but nope, during the night someone went and took it and disappeared, police weren't even interested in sending someone over as it was unlikely they'd ever find it.)
(And dad lost his car what are they called carriage, wagon or well something whatever I'll have to look that up, anyway that disappeared one day when they were out and since then he's been using this lock contraption on them.)
(Crap load of boat thefts - or if that's reasonably secured just the engine - and village break-ins here in Sweden during vacation months too in this country, not too sure on statistics but I think it's been slowly increasing.)
(Read somewhere that lawn movers of various types are also disappearing and ending up in Finland of all places.)

If you mean 'släp': Trailer
And yeah spring/summer is usually a bad time around here with thefts. Lots of seasonal workers so while it is unpopular to say so: I think it has an affect on crime

Wow.
I have had my car keys in the ignition for past 8 years that I have owned a car. And multiple winters, I have had my tools, welder etc inside the car for storage.
Not a single thing has been stolen yet.
Boy am I happy to be living where I am. And I have always lived in an apartment building with a public parking lot out front.
Move 8km to the other side of the town and it's a whole different story though.

Why do you leave the keys in the ignition?

Probably likes to tempt fate. I never leave keys in my car even though it's very unlikely someone would come and steal the it. Another option is children paying in the car. Can start it by accident and you're responsible for the damage yourself.

There's plenty of reasons why car keys are *removable*, and cars are lockable... I believe you can't even claim the insurance if your car is taken because you left the keys in the ignition (i.e. without any use of force).

Why not? I never lose them like that lol, or a friend can borrow my car if ever needed. I can figure out more reasons to leave them there than to not.
Also having 2 people use the same cars and only having one set of keys, you never have to ask the other one where they are when they are always in the ignition.
Like I said, 8 years without issues and counting.
And it's not like I just drive some 200€ tin cans either. Even my -68 Satellite was left untouched for the year or so that I had it.

This is the first time I read someone leaves the keys in the car.
