We are planning to go to Berlin and Paris for a weekend, but I can't figure out where we should book the hotel. For Berlin, there's a nice hotel on "Lützowplatz", apparently it's right in the middle of the city center. Is that a good place to go for a visit? We are interested in the history of a city, buildings and whatnot. Any suggestions?
As for Paris, I think I should aim for the 7th or 8th arrondisement. Is that correct? Again, we are interested in the history and monuments. Shopping is not important.
The aim is to waste as little time as possible on traveling back and forth since it's just 1,5 days per city.

just look for a good price and good ratings. it doesn't matter if it's right in the city or somewhere else. you can travel to any spot from everywhere in no time with sbahn and tram.
