An official announcement for the sequel to Monolith’s 2014 hit title, might be inbound as the developer has been working on a new title for over 2 years.
Hmm, ok, I guess... I'm still at the start of the first one pretty much, heh...
Enjoy the beginning while it lasts, it's the most balanced part. Soon your character will become so overpowered that you'll breeze through outposts by pressing a single button and not even the angriest u wot Orcs will be able to stop you
(Don't expect anything from the story either, especially from the ending *shakes fist*)
For me the game was a wasted opportunity (considering the supposedly iconic AI propaganda), but still enjoyable if you manage to restrain yourself from using all the Supermordormen abilities.
Here's hoping the sequel can improve upon the aforementioned issues, but knowing AAA gaming, it's more likely that it magnifies them instead. Plus it's Warner Bros, I'm expecting great things from the PC version!
Established name. Decent reviews and probably sold enough. It could also be expensive or troublesome licensing issues with the other themes / names (as most probably knows this is a huge issue with LOTR).
How about a new game with fuck all to do with LOTR's *grumble*
Getting very tired with Gandalf, Bilbo, and Saruman - let's move on ffs.
It's like we're living in the world of The Matrix - staying still, never wanting to move on. 20 years from now, Batman will still be trying to catch Joker, Gandalf will still be on time, Star Citizen will be in it's 845th alpha release, approaching it's first billion $, Battlefield 97 will be about Vietnam, and Assassin's Creed will finally get one about ninjas.

How about playing something else if you are tired with it? As long as it sells and people have love for the theme / universe, people will play these games.

That's a strawman argument, and has nothing to do with what I just said.

I actually enjoyed the first one a lot! Didn't expect I would since it might have seemed a bit repetitive. But it was fun! Maybe if they make the mechanics of the game bit more detailed and add couple of futures (no online stuff pls) it will definitely be a worthy game.
They had a good base with the Nemesis system so it could turn out amazing if they improve and expand everything. Knowing AAA devs, they'll either make the exact same game or streamline it even more.

First game was well optimized if I'm not mistaken. It wasn't a huge achievement though as the world was empty. Now I'm expecting a WB quality game: 23.996fps+Denuvo.
