Here comes a game that will try to scare you to death, where all others may have failed. This is DreadOut, a third-person survival horror game set in Indonesia. You play as Linda, and using her many gadgets including a camera, aims to interact with the ghosts to help her solve the puzzles in a deserted town. But what about the scare factor? Wait till you see just how these ghosts appear. If you've ever played Fatal Frame, with the dead appearing right face to face through a camera, then you'll know what to expect with DreadOut.
i think it looks great (atmospheric a specialy) and feels more like some good ghosts horror movies i have seen, very similar to fatal frame from the look of that trailer, but i think it looks better.
Game is awful, cheap scares and badly designed ghosts, awful textures, lots of smoothing going on and what's worse you end up being chased by an insect which tries to have sex with your face every time you stop.
Not even Fatal Frame 1 emulated with PCSX2 looks this bad ,not to mention the fan translated Fatal Frame 4 with Dolphin
If only Forbiden Siren 2 could be emulated properly in Pcsx2, very scary game.
Its an indie game made by a few people, the project started with just 2 guys. Its really not fair to judge this on the same level, especially gfx wise, as commercial games like Fatal Frame
Quote:
Although we can't be compared with some AAA titles out there with hundred people, hundred million budget, yet we already invested our energy, time and money for the sake of our love on this game. DreadOut had been developed almost 2 years now, with start with only 2 people we are now expanding our team with almost 5-15 people now. Even we can handle the most expensive parts of the game such as 3D modeling, animating and texturing assets, because most of our internal team has some form of 3D artistry in our work experience, so the need for 3D assets is offset by using internal resources only, and yet we still need more time and more funds to speed up our production.
Unless they've done massive optimisation, those "recommended" specs are laughable. The game was near unplayable for me last year when I tried the demo... shockingly bad performance. Shame as it looks (gameplay wise, not visuals) really enjoyable.

If you say so, hfric
GeForce 210 =/= 6600GT
1024x768. "Fastest" preset. 14-22fps
I tried it last year on my i5-2500k with 8GB RAM and a single 570 and the performance was abysmal, especially when you turn on the phone light, often chugging around the 30 range - to me that's unplayable, especially considering how unattractive this is. Just tried it again ... same deal;
I'm not even going to bother forcing an SLi profile for this, if a single 570 isn't enough then I'm not wasting my time on the rest. It's a broken game with awful performance and to say otherwise is nothing but lying bullshit.
, guess no 0:53 ...
but yeah its king SABIN he knows better
and they system requirements are correct ,
System requirements :
- 1.8 GHz CPU or faster (2GHz recommended) [AMD Athlon X2 +3000 is a dual core 3ghz]
- 1 GB RAM or bigger (2 GB recommended) [had 2 gigs]
- Windows XP SP2 or later (Windows 7 recommended) [was playing it on Vista]
- DirectX 9.0c or later (with latest driver recomended) [Dx10]
