|
 |
I'm changing my provider from cable to DSL, since I don't need 120Mbit anymore and it's pricey, but the bastards won't stop calling me. They first called from a 088 number, that's a prefix for big companies in NL apparently. When I didn't pick up (since I know this prefix from when I changed gas/electricity provider), dipshits started calling from a private number. I picked up eventually since banks do that also (why the fuck do banks call from a private number!?). Guy asks me why I change providers, I tell him I have a cheaper option. He tells me I'll be going from 120 to 40, am I aware of that. What is this tactic? Make the customer look stupid? I can read moron, I know what speed I signed up for. So I say yes and thank you for the interest, I am happy with my decision. thanks and bye.
I get called again the next day, again 5 fucking times a day from a private number. I pick up and tell (a woman this time) I already had the conversation. She tells me I have a 14 days grace period and can still decide to cancel the change. Am I sure I want to cancel my subscriptions on their excellent service. I say I'm probably smart enough to make that decision. That's not what she meant and whatnot, she can make a deal. OK let me hear the deal. We can downgrade you to the lighter subscription (40 Mbit), you'll pay 10 euros less. I ask how downgrading me is a deal, I can do that myself if I wanted to. Then she semi-threatens they'll need to cut off my cable connection and it'll mean extra costs when I subscribe again. I ask why she assumes I'll get cable again. Well sir you can get speeds up tro 200Mbit, not possible on DSL. Well didn't we already establish I don't need such speeds? But I apparently can't know what my needs will be in the future with streaming and whatnot. Well I'm not interested in Netflix and shit and I'll be paying 240 euros less for this year. Can you predict the future *woman's name*? This goes on for a couple of minutes, I ask her not to call me again since I'm no longer interested. What happens? They call again six times today
TL:DR da fuck just happened?

DSL is 240 less with a one year contract. I also get interactive TV and more HD channels.

You can't even get internet over cable without a mandatory TV subscription here.

It's Vodafone. I'm an old Ziggo client, I pay 52 atm instead of 58,50 (new price). I think I even paid 47,50 before they were taken over by Liberty Global. The awesome thing is I don't get interactive TV and more HD channels (which you mention), since I'm an old member. Apparently I need to get a new one year subscription, but I obviously don't get the reduced price for the first six months. So I'd need to pay 58,50 for a year, to get what every new subscriber gets. What a nice way to treat a long time customer.
I had this same shit happening when I left Essent. Sam prefix, different number.

We don't really have that here thankfully. The only annoying calls are from companies offering you like some special pillows, vacuum cleaners and shit. Luckily I managed to ditch those too. I changed my telephone to my cable provider, so I have TV + Net + Tel so once I did that I told the ISP not to put my name in their telephone book and since then I think I only got maybe two calls in over 6 months and I didn't pick up cuz they are usually 0800 numbers or numbers from some city far away from me where I know I got no relatives/friends.
