No it wasn't. Clone Wars series was fucking awesome, prequels were 100 times better than the sequels, loved them when they were new, not that great now but watchable. Also the whole expanded universe is / was quite great, especially Thrawn trillogy...
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
yes i made an OT post in the Mandalorian thread about it... and the vessel is called "vessel"... read an interview with the writer... about the rock "it was my boyfriend's idea!"
suuuuuuuuuuure it was. at least she didn't blame her cat, because that's at least something we might assume would exist in her life.
The Mandalorian is the closest thing to real Star Wars since the OG trilogy as far as I'm concerned. I am really looking forward to the Boba Fett show as well as the Ahsoka show even though I didn't finish watching Clone Wars and haven't seen a single episode of Rebels. They're still in my schedule to watch though.
I feel like Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are true Star Wars fans in the best sense; they know the lore, they've followed the expansion of the extended universe (and thus incorporated many little elements from games, books and other media) or as it's now called; Star Wars Legends.
I appreciated The Mandalorian a lot more than I probably would have if I hadn't played Kotor 1 & 2 multiple times over the years since they were not only extremely well written for being PC RPG's with tons of lore as well as an epic main story arc about Darth Revan which was more interesting than the prequels and sequels combined (although the sequels made me look at the prequels in a very different/more appreciative way from before I watched Ep. VII).
From every article about Star Wars under Disney I've read in recent months there seems to be a war with two sides: The Kathleen Kennedy camp and the Dave Filoni/Jon Favreau camp.
Spoiler:
The High Republic team is extremely pissed off at Filoni/Favreau for using Luke in the final episode of Mandalorian season two since they felt that the reveal would totally take the lights off their project (which I know little about and care even less about to begin with).
Besides, after the box office bomb of Solo, the massive disappointment in esp. the last two sequels, Disney put a hold on all SW projects not already in production at the time and from what I know, Kennedy was no longer given the full dictator role, instead Disney was taking different proposals and approved Filoni to go ahead with his own branched franchise while Kennedy focused on her branch. I'm sure she's had some serious discussions with Bob Iger (Disney CEO) and others over the backlash against many of her decisions, hence why we're seeing projects that caters to the intended audience instead of people that want to write their names in the stars by using the franchise as a stepping stone. Rian Johnson won't get rid of the blemish on his reputation anytime soon.
If someone is interested in Reylos... not sure it's the best walkthrough of what they are, but it's pretty disgusting. Fans who are, still to this day, obsessed with Kylo and Rey coming together. But it doesn't end there they also want these actors to be together in real life, so they wish death upon Adam Driver's wife and kid, and aren't ashamed to post about it, very detailed how they wish Adam Driver's kid would die. Very, very disturbed people, some more than others.
They're also obsessed with trying to cancel anyone who doesn't like the new Star Wars movies, taking their chancels down by lying, falsely copyright claiming and/or just mass-flagging..
They've gotten almost no attention in media while the same media claims Rose Tico (actor Kelly Marie Tran) got "scared off Twitter" because one person tweeted "your character sucks" (which was not why she got off Twitter btw..)..
Will be interesting to see if she comes back or not, i kind of hope she just gives them the finger. There's no way i would trust them after doing what they did, so many employees also endorsing it + claiming racism, transphobia etc (none of it true or proven in any way).
They're so imaginative too... "The Vessel" and now "Boba Fett's Starship".. You can just tell how much imagination and effort that took.. some really talented people who probably likes all "The Star Wars", a lot..

Well to be fair "Star Wars" the title isn't imaginative either you are just use to hearing it:
What shall w call it? A war fought up there in space among the stars? I got it! Star.....Wars?
Hell "Slave 1" isn't a stroke of brilliant creativity either (Or sand crawler, or Landspeeder). So if we are going purely on the ability to name things with awesome names and not just name it literally what it is...the old name fails too

I don't agree. Star Wars both looks and sounds nice for a commercial sci-fi movie, it's a really good name. Something more complex and "imaginative" works less good as a brand name, which Star Wars is. Look at other brand names and they are similar, it should be simplistic, it should look nice when printed etc, there's more to a name like that than what you might think. It's not totally about being super imaginative.
Slave-1, SandCrawler, Millenium Falcon are way better than "the vessel" or "X's Starship". nothing wrong with Landspeeder either. The names are simplistic yet they (usually) tell a little bit of what the vehicle is. It's many thousands times better than calling a vessel "the vessel".
Some other names:
Tantive IV (Rebel Blockade Runner)
Dooku's solar sailer
Scimitar (Sith Infiltrator)
Trade Federation battleship (Lucrehulk-class battleship)
Razor Crest
TIE-Fighter
etc etc
Creative enough. Names like Darth Vader etc, their naming of vehicles, creatures and people is among the best in sci-fi....
Didnt say 'Star Wars' didnt sound nice, said it was no 'better' than the new changes. Part of it sounding nice is you are accustomed to hearing it so it ties to something.
And Millennium Falcon yea, that is a creative name..The rest are descriptions in context.
Not arguing the new name isnt overly simplistic, saying a lot of things people are nostalgic for now in StarWars is also simplistic but familiar...and the familiarity and nostalgia is what makes it endeared, not its naming scheme (or lack of).
If they called it "The vessel" to start with and wanted to call it "Slave 1" now the argument would be the same, for the same reasons "That new name is dumb and doesnt fit, the old was cool"...so clearly its not the type of name, its the nostalgia looking for a finger to bite.

A name like Star Wars gets familiar within minutes because of its simplicity. That's how they select such names. Coca Cola is also brilliant like that.
No, Slave-1 is a way more creative name than something like the vessel or starship. now you're being stupid. it says something, it contains lore, it says something about its purpose etc (transporting slaves and prioners).
I'm surprised they didn't name it something like Ghay Lesba or something similar, many of the new Disney names for characters has been something to do with gay/trans.
Maybe we should be thankful. Or maybe, just maybe, there's just 3 star wars movies and that's the end of it.
I can argue if it was called The Vessel to start with, I can also retroactively come up with reasons its now considered 'right':
So lets say they called it the vessel from the start..
I can imagine someone's argument of why "Slave 1" as a new name if "The Vessel" was what it was called to start, is dumb:
THE vessel implies there is only one just like it..bobba fetts' and its lack of descriptive purpose lends an air of mystery to its actual intended use. But the new Slave 1? Hes a bounty hunter first, slaver second..why not Bounty 1? And why 1? is there more than 1? IS there a slaver 2,3,..512? It makes no sense. The vessel was simple, to the point, and complimented his mystery well.
WE can all make up reasons that lucas never did on why names makes sense to ourselves. We can reason with hindsind all day why the name you grew to love is the perfect one. But without acknowledging you love it because you grew to love it so dear, its pointless to argue how 'dumb' any name old or new..is.

No. Again, it's a name with slight lore vs name that says nothing. it has nothing to do with nostalgia. The numbering is great too, you can wonder if there are more like it, which you did, so it sparked your imagination. That's a good name, and there's more purpose to it than what you make it out to be. you've proved yourself wrong.
Gandalf's horse wasn't called "THE horse" or "Gandalf's horse", Knight Rider's car wasn't named "the car". There's a reason to this and you can pretend it only has to do with nostalgia, you're being stupid now and i think you know it.

Starship also transports slaves and prisoners.
A vessel does the same.
It is the story that matters. Name does not. If story is good, name will stick.
If og slave-1 was called crusader-7 or deployer-6 or anything else, you wouldn't care if they updated the lore.
Boba fett isn't capturing slaves. So they can change the name in the story. As long as it works.
Asian lady: slave 1. Thats the old name.
Boba fett: you're right, I like it.
Asian lady: we gonna go into slave trade?
Boba fett: no. We are gonna free the slaves from their oppressors.
Asian lady: so we should name it that will inspire hope and not fear.
Boba fett: you're right! How about Boba fetts starship?
Asian lady: we will think of something. (Audience laughs)
^^^^ does not work. But you know they'll do something like this.
Doesn't matter. What matters is why haven't you bought slave-1 toys since they just sky rocketed in value.
