if there's an animation that could steal toy story's 3 Oscar, this is it.

Ugh, what? This is very sweet and lovely and shit but it's nowhere even close to TS3.

havent seen tangled yet, but i do think ts3 is a tiny bit overrated. yes its very well made, and yes its pixar, but it doesnt eclipse the first 2 films, and compared to some of pixars previous movies, i think its not as strong... it certainly isnt as good as up or wall.e

and personally, id rather see how to train your dragon win best animation, or even legend of the guardians.

i think its sad that toy story 3 will probably win JUST because its pixar. in my opinion it wasnt the competition crushing force some think it was in the animation field for 2010 and i think the field should be wide open for a NUMBER of animated films to win.

I saw Tangled in 3D. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Tangled is alot better than Toy Story 3. Tangled should win for best animation, and best movie as well.

I'm totally with you about Dragon or Guardians should win.

Honestly Tangled is a 300% cliche'd absolutely standard Disney flick with:
- great voiceover + songs
- a cute animal companion
- comic relief side characters
- 100% predictable story w/o twists

I ain't saying it's bad, it's really good, BUT it doesn't have something special in it. TS3 had those awesome flashback sequences with clow, bear and baby for example. Tangled has nothing. It was great when Disney been using exactly the same concept for the nth time for a few dozen years now it's just boring - compared to rivals like Dragon or Guardians.

P.S. FFS, even the 2D Princess & teh Frog was more unique and charming thanks to New Orleans/jazz/voodoo themes than Tangled

I don't get all the fuss about TS3. I saw it and it was good, but for instance I liked Wall-E 1000 times more. Guardians had the best CGI of all imo, but they had chewed up and clichéd story. Up had an amazing story, and so on...

Set between the events of the feature film and the 2012 short Tangled Ever After, the animated series finds Rapunzel acquainting herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona, as she realizes there is so much left to learn before she can accept her royal destiny. When Rapunzel puts her crown and impending marriage on hold to seek out epic adventures, she is joined by Eugene, the plucky chameleon sidekick; Pascal, the no-nonsense horse; Maximus, the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs; and newcomer Cassandra, a tough-as-nails handmaiden who becomes Rapunzel’s confidant.
