Another Double Fine game seems to come to PC
Quote: | It seems that a new title isn’t the only change in store for the game formerly known as Trenched. Now labelled Iron Brigade in all territories following a trademark dispute in Europe, an ESRB rating has surfaced suggesting the game may also be set to appear on a new platform before too long.
The new entry, which is rated T for Teen (due to “Language, Mild Suggestive Themes, Use of Tobacco, Violence”) has been listed for both Xbox 360 and PC, sparking rumours that Double Fine is planning a second launch.
Iron Brigade
According to the ESRB:
This is a third-person shooter in which players pilot and control giant weaponized mechs to defend against robotic enemies. Players use machine guns, sniper canons, and grenade launchers to kill waves of enemy creatures and larger bosses. The combat can be frenetic at times, and is accompanied by realistic gunfire and explosions; enemies fall to pieces and disappear when defeated.
The, ahem, “suggestive themes” are primarily included in magazine covers or character descriptions – referring to “The Sex-Beast of Route 66″, “Saucy Succubi of Transylvania” and the obviously perverted pilot who “loves to sleep with his wife”.
As fitting for wartime adventures, several characters smoke cigars and cigarettes (less of a big deal back then, of course). We’re also warned the game includes unrated, user-generated online features.
…so yeah. Placeholder entry, or promise of something new from Tim Schafer and his team? We haven’t heard anything specific about a PC release of Iron Brigade, but the ratings board wouldn’t lie to you, would it?

Very weird, that it wasn't one of their 6 announcements..!!
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

Hopefully they've realized that Steam is the best platform when it comes to games like this.

Ah well, GFWL works (not great, but it works). No idea how this game is though.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

Too bad it uses GFWL, might've bought it if it didn't.

I thought it was some problem with VSync initially but it seems it's capped, might be possible to mod it somehow like with LA Noire or such, I don't remember but wasn't Stacking also set to 30 FPS?
(Their previous release unless I'm missing some game in-between, there was one before that as well, Costume Quest I think but I don't remember how it did framerate.)
EDIT: I can handle it though but I do notice a difference between 30 and 60 as well and sometimes higher although as I try to go for visual quality it's not too often that happens heh, some however will require 60 as a basis for the game to feel fully smooth even if it's 30 all the time (no "lag" or stuttering as framerate suddenly drops and rises or how to explain it.) which is understandable, I guess there's those who ideally want even higher even outside requirements for 3D and such effects.
(Around 200 isn't bad when it's achievable - I don't have a 200hz monitor to take full advantage of those rare occasions though, ha ha -, any higher and coil or capacitator or what it was whine starts happening which is annoying though usually harmless but at very high figures additional heat is generated and more stress put on the GPU, that recent Legend of Pegasus game for example runs at ~500 up to 2000 FPS which is pretty noticeable in the additional noise and heat generated.)

If it's completely locked at 30, no drops or spikes, then it can feel playable and smooth.. if not ideal. I guess I'm just too sensitive to <60 lately, I'm not sure why. Thanks for the info JB! <3

Great! Got stuck on second mission in legit version. I've defeated all waves and the game doesn't progress.
EDIT: I'm derp beyond recognition lately. I don't know if the hint about zooming in didn't kick in or I just haven't noticed it.
EDIT2: I sense some patching coming. The game just hang on loading screen.
