Windows or OSX? And why? What exactly is it that you're doing that warrants it?

Nope, and I haven't for years. Common sense is the best antivirus.

If I suspect anything I just download Spybot and scan it once, then remove it.

I'm keeping ESET installed as well, though it's mostly a placebo-like way to make me feel more secure. The best antivirus is indeed Common Sense Advanced Software Razz

used some kind of cracked norton or mcafee firewall/antivirus thing until 2004/2005 i think. after that i never used a "normal" anti virus programm again.

since then i'm mostly free of any shit... got some antimalwarebytes running from time to time but most of the time it finds nothing. and if it does it's nothing really harmful. if you are careful enough and use some kind of adblock for your browser you don't need any kind of anti virus. if someone wants to hack you, they do, no software firewall will help you with this.

if i got somekind of faulty file which i want to check i just go on one of these online antivirus sites... it's more then enough to check a file every few months.

well on my ex gfs laptop i always installed a antivirus/firewall and i also recommend it to some other people (supermax for example should use it)

used kaspersky till a few years ago (like 7 years ago, oh time goes on...), tried a few free ones. all shit. with win 7 i switched to ms security essentials and never had a single problem (and no performance issues like i had with kaspersky in the end, thats why i decided to dump it) and its not bugging you with ads etc. scan my entire system every 2-3-4 months with a live cd, never had any virus. and im using spybot every now and then to scan my system. as is said, not problems at all

Also, antivirus on iPhone? Laughing What will it scan exactly, itself? Laughing iOS is sandboxed, and barring some crazy iOS security vulnerabilities which are not easily accessible, malware can do very little damage.

android isnt, there are enough idiots who install apks from unknown sources and root their phones even though they dont know what they are doing and simply dont need it

windows phone (or windows 10 for mobiles or what it will be named when it comes out, crossing fingers for tp for today) also sandboxes every applications. heck their isnt even a kind of jailbreak cause the system/bootloader is strongly secured (some chinese announced something over a year ago but never heard of it again). but the sandboxing has some negative points -> i.e. apps cant access systemsettings unless ms offers an api to do so. would be usefull at some points but overall im fine with it

I Just use MSE, I see it the same way as others here seem to. A bit of smarts and you don't need some all inclusive firewall/AV/adware/network security suite crap.
Dont think I had a virus in years, my kids get them now and then, but I make them learn the hard way, what MSE and malwarebytes won't fix, I format and reinstall their windows. They learn quick to be smarter online, instead of "I need more protection online" mentality.

Only reason I use MSE at all, is its a single click to add to the list of ninite when I do a windows install here at home and it just sits in the tray, no shareware popup crap, or cracks, or reminders. other than a green icon in my tray I forgot I have it.

Nope, nothing since years.
Have it on my work computer and every friday night it's doing the weekly scan and totally screws the pc up, performance wise. IT department doesn't care to change the schedule, so I'm doing a reboot everytime I still have work to be done. F*** this useless piece of software. The time there was a need for this is over IMO. I can't remember that anyone got infected since years, even the most derpy pc users, like my brother Razz
