Based on Danish/Swedish series with the same name, FX is doing a US version.

What the fucks the point in the British / French one ?

really, they are still going to use Subtitles.

If thats the case then watch the original

Folkestone and Calias are two dumps (apologies anyone unfortunate enough to live in either) the Swedish / Danish one looked lovely, the British French one will look retarded.

I'm sure they're still going to use subtitles in the U.S/Mexican one. Just not between Bichir and Kruger who both will obviously speak english when working together.

Are the cultures really that different that Americans need their own version. What is wrong in using English subtitles while watching the original ? Or is it a money thing perhaps ?

I only hope they don't make it hurr durr for the American audience as usual xD. It doesn't look like it's the case here though, everything seems proper...for now Razz

Sure if they are going to make everything English I can see the point (thats not to say I agree with it) but if they are still subtitling one half of it, then its pointless.

I doubt half of the series will be subtitled, hell not even 25% of it Very Happy I suppose some scenes where Bichir's character will be interrogating locals in Mexico, or talking to some colleagues from the federal police, etc.

Gotta disagree. It was pretty bad overall. I did not like the swedish detective character at all and the plot was preeeetty lame, imo.

Saga was awesome, although I will admit it took me an episode or two before I thought that.

How close was it to the original ?

Is it worth watching if you have seen the original version ?
