1) Does the original link work?

Link still works. And there is just the one file named gambatte_qt_win32-r571.zip

Ah thanks. So using a non-public folder and sharing view-only links to specific files is the way to go.

That's what I did when I started using Skydrive and used the sharing links, just used another browser. I was curious about the logging in thing though, because I once shared a link and the person said they had to log in (to their hotmail account) to view it.

Other browsers insisted that I logged in for some reason. Maybe they do ip-check?

unless you created a public link or shared it publicly only you can view files from your onedrive
no ip checks

Yes, but why don't my own links work for me in different browsers (and from a VM)?
On my IE the link I posted in my original post redirects me to Onedrive login page. I cannot get to the file. Yesterday I had tried from a win VM with Firefox, still the same.
