That monitor will be great for any graphical work whether it's rendering, photoshopping, 3D-designing etc.

But for gaming? lol... utter waste of pixels since you'll definitely need a high efficiency scaling Quad-GPU setup with at LEAST 4-6GB of RAM/card if you want to use the full resolution. Displayport v1.3 is a must (or dual v1.2/1.2a cables) to send all that data to the monitor.

I want it.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Don't really need it. This is quite enough. You don't sit in front of the monitor so close.

Didn't argue that it wasn't, it's just that this is not some 'everyday' piece of hardware - these kind of monitors are usually targeted, as Frant pointed out, towards professionals.

This only takes 41cm distance to become "retina" for someone with 20/20 vision. So yes, this resolution is quite fine.

Majority in here are gamers and expect gaming hardware. They don't consider other uses for a computer. Wink

Not only that, but everything above a certain low price is considered "overpriced garbage" that doesn't "help gaming", regardless of the merits of the product. Wink

Whatever happened to "I can't afford it, but it's a really amazing product, so I'll just be happy for people that can afford it and still praise the product on its merits"? Very Happy

Great but at that price it better have a GB-r backlight and A-TW polarizer

The UP2715K is also glossy, that could bother some:

although: "Interestingly it seems to feature a glass coating for super-clear images, but has an anti-smudge and anti-reflective coating to it which really helps cut out the glare."

don't see very much of that anti-reflective filter in the video tbh.
I don't understand why they didn't go semi-gloss like my monitor (AMVA+), because I can clearly see its possible to get a crisp picture and clean whites without crystalline effect and also none of the reflections, unless there is a bright light source directly behind me, but who works like that (and even then the glare is blurry and I can't make out any details)
