Their DRM is a success.

Speaking to us earlier today a Ubisoft representative admitted that the developer has seen “a clear reduction in piracy of our titles which required a persistent online connection, and from that point of view the requirement is a success.”

In order to be a labelled success shouldn't the games sell MORE than before? Why does it matter if piracy is reduced if people are still not buying their games?

And if they are buying them, why didn't they so.

Gah!

I bought Settlers 7 on steam. It was a pain to play. First you have to log into steam, then the Uplay thingy, and I usually have diffrent passwords on every site so there was a lot of grief when I mixed them up or just forgot what the damn password was.

I have no idea what the password is now, It was a long time since I played it, so I guess I will never be able to play it again.

And then we have the thing with the servers. So much trouble just logging in. 1 out of 3 times I tried to play it the server was down. If you are able to get into the game, god forbid something happens to your internet connection....

Gnnnarrgghh. I will never buy a UBI soft game again. Worst anti-piracy project ever. When will they get it? They loose sales doing this shit..

Yeah, great succes Ubi soft, your DRM is such a massive win. You'll find that out the hard way when Driver sells 500 copies on the PC, due to your shitty piece of shit stupid DRM.Laughing But then again, the CEO of the company is a french guy called Yves Guillemot, that pretty much says it all Laughing

..implying it's going to sell much more on the consoles Laughing

The game is sent to die draconian DRM or not.

Tried the yet uncracked games(HAWX2 , Shaun White Skateboarding) on OnLive. Kinda like the fact that on OnLive is game without Uplay nonsence. But Onlive is not stable for me. Can wait for crack even if it takes years (SWS isnt that bad as i expected but HAWX 2 feels weird)

Shaun White Skateboarding worked for a little while, no? Pretty damn sure I played that on my PC when it first came out. It was fucking horrible and I deleted it after a half-hour.

I bet sales for that game were abysmal. At least they can't blame it on piracy I guess.

I believe they know that the customers have less faith in the new Driver so before it flops they want to get all the money they can make before it's available for piracy.
