Completed the first level, it's very much like the first game, bit dated due to being a Wii or PS2 game but if you can overlook that it's a interesting game and quite brutal if you manage to pull of the various executions.
Not much else to compare it to, controls are quite good (Unsure if it works with gamepads.) though your character is a bit sluggish and very frail so stealth is quite important (As in the first game.) story seems a bit dark and a bit confusing as well, movies are rather low-res and the sound quality isn't the greatest but it is a port.
(However it allows changing of quite a few settings and even has a option to enable AA which helps a bit, AF has to be forced however, runs great though but that's kinda expected.)
(Final execution "tier" with glass shard, has a little plastic wrap as a handle so it kinda looks like a dagger, still breaks when used due to being fragile, better than punching them to death though, sledge is nice as well but a bit slow.)
Looks like the is a little bit censored, there was more blood and twice as much head-sawing in the beta...
And as the Wii weapons are included, I wonder if there's also the Katana and Flashlight from the PS2.
Probably not, there's no mention of a katana or flashlight in the various youtube "execution videos", can't say anything about the hacksaw censorship but even if the sequence is shortened it all appears to be there, I guess it might have been edited a bit during the beta unless I misundetstand something.
(Beta was basically a leak of a earlier PS2 version before the decision to cut it down to appeal the ban in several countries wasn't it?)
I'll admit it's been years since I played the first one on pc which was an excellent port Imho. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the first one have freelook ala Splinter Cell? I'm asking because it's the only feature that I is missing in this game, otherwise I'm satisfied with the pc port.

Game is so 90s graphics-wise of course. Normally i'm not a graphic whore but have already built up a certain amount of hate on ps2 ports. It's ugly even on max. Anyway, it's a boring game to me too. At first i thought i'd be playing the game only for the gory, bloody and various executions but after a while it gets dull and monotonous to me. And everything is the same as the previous manhunt. Can't tell a difference between the two games as of gameplay and atmosphere terms. The decision to port the game to the pc is a desperate measure cause initially (back in mid 2008) game didn't met the preliminary expectations. I mean it didn't sell as much as they hoped to. However, i will skip it. Uninstall.

Stop these stupid exaggerations with 90s and whatnot, this game originally came out 2 years ago. And it doesn't looks that bad, maybe I'm a little biased cos I love PS2 graphics but whatever.
Well good graphics don't make a good game I say Look at Crysis, gameplay wise it's ok but nothing more Imho.
And I think it's a bit harsh to say it's got 90's graphics, 'cause I would love to see this run perfectly on a 90's pc/console....
Btw. Shouldn't this game have freelook? It feels very strange to not be able look vertical

so my final verdict from comparing the uncensored wii version and the ps2 beta with the PC version is the following:
The PC Version is as violent as the Wii version plus decapitations, plier and katana executions. But compared to the beta, a lot of executions are SHORTENED, like in the retail versions.
Examples:
Hacksaw L2: shorter headsawing
Plastic Bag L3: missing a punch at the end
Glass Shard L3: shorter eye-picking
Toilet env. execution: missing one smash and danny kicking the body
etc.
Tho I should mention there are smaller bloodclouds and no body damage in the beta
eh, some people fail to realize that spouting memes can be funny, IF they're related to the context they're used in. this is one of the reasons why 4chan started to suck, newfags repeating crap without rhyme or reason.
or perhaps i'm just missing something here.
you're missing something so back away before you make yourself look worse.
