To anyone who has been banned and then got a new console: did you re-use your old gamertag or create a new one? I've already created a new one and started using it, but I hate to lose everything I put into my old one. Would you recommend using the old one? Or do you think that will just get me another quick ban? Just curious to get some opinions. Thanks!

That article is also dumb because not a single "account" was "disabled", aside from the few random ones for early play before.
CONSOLES were BANNED, not accounts were disabled. If that guy had talked to some Microsoft guy I bet he would have at least used the correct terms... :\

If microshit does not earn on consoles, what's their point? The fuckers have to sell one more and add a few bucks to it.
Oh, and one more question - do these assholes ban people who don't play on live? I never had a gold account, except for this one free month. I did not like it though and never extended gold.

Have you guys read this?
Spoiler: | "I will post in here and hope my identity is not compromised as I will get into severe trouble.
This is what i do. I am an Xbox Live checks manager and I am the guy who helps run through the data being sent to Xbox Live that has been flagged for banning and was also discussed a very long time ago of what will "bring down all modified Xboxs"
I myself have an Cbox that has been modified because i think it is a crime what they do charging so much when the games don't even cost Microsoft half of what they are getting. Anyway, we have found a way to read the firmware. The NXE update has allowed us to do a check on the current firmware installed on the dvd drive.
The reason this was not flagged was because the code was not active. As you might have heard it was discussed about a "self destruct" code embedded in the NXE update and even before that. This was that code it wasn't a self destruct code but actually a check that was done on all drives.
This check was begun when the update was to "prepare for the last.fm facebook and twitter" this in fact was the code sent out to begin checks on ALL Xboxs.
These checks would send us information on the firmware written to the drive not the exact kind but we did an extensive form of hash check on the drive and could actually find out if it was modified in any way.
This was particularly easy on the lite-on as it was actually manufactured to serve for this purpose as our testing model.
We will not ban all consoles at once and yes all information about you has been collected a long time ago.
We have THOUSANDS of Xboxs reporting bad checks meaning modified firmware. Not all people will be banned and all the bans are done at random times
Multiple checks have been done over this amount of time so we could assure the modified Xboxs were truly modified and not just returning corrupt data.
I am sorry i did not com forward with this information sooner but this information has been critical to the cat and mouse game
This check was also done back in the xtreme days if anyone remembers that when c4eva had to rewrite it to allow the checks to come back clean well this must be done again.
Sorry all for the bannings but it is a natural process and I wish you all luck and hope you do not get banned
If you do await the new firmware that is begin developed and cheers to you all you wanted to know it now you got it. |

m$ only hires dicks who cares about nothing but $$$, so even if what written there is true (i had theory myself about spyware in the dashboard) someone coming opening like this is highly unlikely
long story short, mod your console and stay off-line for the sake of install to hdd

I think thats BS! Sad part is we will never know.
It could be a message from a MS employee in an attempt to get us thinking something that may or may not be true. Can that info really be trusted, who knows. But it can easily be BS info.
In the end. Just modify your console, and never go online with it. Thats that.

me and my brother both recently got banned last week.
he played on live all the time. never used p2p games.
he did play games early off of live. but then would sign on to live to play an old game the same day. i forgot to warn him
but apparently that didnt matter
because i never played online. ive signed on a few times to get DLC and that was it.
i never signed on with a game in my profile before it was released.
i went on the other day to get the dlc for dragon age and bam no more hard drive use which is all i really cared about.
but like i said i couldnt even say the last time i signed onto live maybe to get fallout dlc
i have 1.6 fw btw
and allways scene releases

Dunno seems like total bullcrap and MS panic tactics... (in all forums some newbies posting how badly they are banned without booting a single backup etc.. and then press release of 1 M account bans)
Dont know a single friend who has been banned in current wave, except one lame kiddo who used RRoD MW2 release....

I know a lot of poeple who got banned that didnt play MW2. A guy who i burned NHL 10 got banned, flashed his brand new 360 4 days before getting banned.
Has nothing to do with dodgy releases anymore and 98% of poeple i know who got banned were on Lite-ons

you know that if you rip games in 30% of cases they have bad security sectors (even for scene releases), so I would say that this shit is bad backups related (only now MS somehow manages to detect that the bad jitter is not caused by bad laser etc. but by bad backup)
abgx 1.0.2 is out
- Added support for SS v2
- Added the new check for DMI corruption which the database has been using since 2009/06/14
from xbox scene
SS v2 very simply consists of a duplicate angle value for response types 7 and 5 stored in c4eva's C/R replay table and was added in iXtreme v1.6. Older 0800 ripping firmwares and Kreon's firmware will record the angle just once, which results in SS v1. The problem is that Kreon's firmware does not do an actual measurement to get the angle, but simply uses preset angles that all games currently use and applies a small jitter to them. Storing the angle twice allows us to be fairly certain that this is a real angle measurement made by an actual Xbox 360 drive. If a game was intentionally or accidentally mastered with one or more angles that deviated far from their CCRT targets, it would need to be ripped with a drive that does actual angle measurements in order to mimic the original disc's responses. If that drive also supports SS v2 and you have the default option enabled to "Trust SS v2 angles", abgx360 will accept them instead of complaining about deviation from the (obviously incorrect) CCRT target. It will still check and alert you when appropriate about the v1 angle deviation from the v2 angle, which should be zero unless the v1 angle has been adjusted to its CCRT target by an older version of abgx360, or if a 359 degree v1 angle was adjusted to 0 for compatibility with iXtreme < v1.4. If you have decided not to trust SS v2 angles by unchecking that option, abgx360 will compare both the v1 and v2 angle to the CCRT target as if each was a v1 angle and alert you when appropriate; this is useful if you're paranoid and think someone has maliciously tampered with the angles. Note, however, that abgx360 v1.0.2 or later will never fix angle deviation or C/R data for an SS v2 without a verified ini and SS file (although it will still adjust any 359 degree v1 angles if you have that option enabled). If your SS v2 is fucked up, something is seriously wrong and you need to rip again or use the SS provided by AutoFix, as there is no reliable way to fix an SS v2 using decrypted CCRT data.

Yes, I would stop, as there's no doubt MS is selling a ton more consoles whenever a ban wave hits. If a brand new flashed console would get banned within days, people wouldn't bother buying new ones.

The HDD will still work on a new 360, but everything on it will be corrupt, and therefor useless.
