Can anyone confirm this? I don't want the crappy SP2 on my computer. If this is true I will play my Xbox version and won't grab this.

Has anyone noticed that in the xbox version when you selected a response riddick actually spoke but in the pc version i just select a response and it skips any speech then the comp speaks again. Is this a fault or is it meant to be like this because if it is i think they have spoiled it as the responses were really good Sad Sad

He speaks here as far as I have noticed.

maybe it's just the releases. Groups tend to rip that kind of stuff (the "was it there before or did I just imagine it?") kind of stuff like replies, some obscure 30-minute movies, etc. out to save space and for convenience.

Am downloading indiscreet torrent atm. should have it ready by the time I come home (from work) around 2pm eastern. I'll tell you for certain by then. BTW my rls is "PC - The Chronicles of Ridick Escape From Butcher Bay Developers Cut DVD". It's the Hoodlum release. 3208.18mb

What are you babbling about. This is the DVD release, nothing gets ripped, it's exactly like the original.
It's in RIPS they rip stuff out.

Anyone else getting a black screen after you nearly kill Abbot at his place? After the loading screen, everything is black, you only hear voices and the music. Something about the warden hitting Johns cause he wants to much for Riddick and then he tells Riddick that he's going to the mines...

I didnt get the game to work on XP without sp neither did my neighbour after installing SP1 the game works like a charm.

And the readme says this:

The game requires Service Pack 1 for Windows XP.
The game requires Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000.

So i doubt they say require for fun and plus that i just got an error when trying to run it.

Yeah and it's only a $20 game which also justifies everyone to buy it.. They really deserv the money imho.

Really lookng forward to see what they can do next.. Riddick took only 20 months to develop and they only had a small team.. puts ID and Valve to shame Razz

Great game. The graphics put Valve and iD to shame. The gameplay is great. The performance makes Doom 3 feel like it was developed by John Deere. Physics, granted, are better in either of the two 'big' games, but for a $20 title with such a dev time, and a movie knockoff at that... not mentioning a console port, this game is amazing.

Have to agree, just started playing it after a "short" d-load and it is truly a very good game so far.

People are trying to compare this to Doom.....Doom was just one big cluster-F scare the crap outta ya....LOL

Edit: By the way vurt, why are you comparing this game to Doom3? As far as i know this game is nothing like Doom3. All this game have in common with Doom3 is that you play in a first person perspective and nothing else.
Doom3 is a pure action game while this is more like a action/adventure game with different ways of playing, a big difference there.
Comparing this to Doom3 is like comparing Virtua tennis to Mario tennis Razz

It would be better to compare this game to Deus EX, those two games are more the same. Sure you got RPG elements in Deus EX but most of the game is almost the same as this.

nah, i dont agree at all. Its much more like Doom3 than DX. sure, Riddick has stealth, that's the main difference. I was making the comparison mostly because of the grapics (which has some similarities).. People that enjoy FPS games will enjoy Riddick, i dont think most FPS fanatics would enjoy a game like DX or System Shock because its much deeper / complex and nothing you'll finish in 6-7 hours..

The stealth in Riddick isnt really that big of a deal and its just as linear as any other FPS, it's not a very complex game at all. The "adventure elements" ( Rolling Eyes ) is just "find that for me", "kill him", "open that".. all FPS games has this, even Doom3. I even think (know) its much more reading in Doom3 than in Riddick.. Razz

Played both games, Doom3 and Riddick, and IMO Riddick was much more fun gameplay wise. Didn't try it yet on the PC, but it should on par with Xbox one or even better.
Peace.
