No, not really. But there's an isodemo version if you are that keen to find out first hand. ME Andromeda was basically DA Inquisition in space and with guns, so if you played MEA you should already have an idea of what to expect.

Andromeda was a full blown atrocity to its series. Burn it with fire, put its head on a stake, then bury it weighted down with stones in the ocean kind of bad.

Dragon Age: Inquisition was, at least for me, somewhat palatable. They put a little bit of effort into it, unlike the copy/paste mess that was Dragon Age 2. Still pales in comparison to the original though.

Yeah, I'd rate them the same. Better than the lazy garbage that was 2, but definitely no 1. Couldn't hold my attention tho, so I never finished it.

Sure, there's no question that DAI was a lot more competently made. Nobody suffered from a tired face. That says a lot given that DAI was Bioware's first Frostbite game, and they had to create all the RPG systems from scratch. Plus it was a fantasy game based on melee combat. The MEA team had the DAI tools and engine changes to build from, plus their combat was shooter-based, Frostbite's stock-in-trade. I know Montreal had the deck stacked against them in some respects, but it's clear they were not up to the task given to them regardless.

But leaving that aside, the two games are broadly similar in their overall nature. Needlessly shoehorned into a semi-open world style, boring empty areas filled with fetch quests, terrible central narrative which retcons/contradicts previously established lore, a joke of a main antagonist/villain, some terrible characters and forced SJW diversity injection.

Sorry, but Andromeda is big improvement in its "open world" department then Inquisition.

Still preferring less open world Bioware games of old, but Andromeda open words felt much less generic them what we got in Inquisition. A clear improvement. Less hassle, how I would explain it.

But I guess, Andromeda had to compete to decent previous games, while Inquisition had a low effort Dragon Age 2 sequel instead. Rolling Eyes

Andromeda did better than Inquisition in the side quests department, no question about that, but it failed at so many other things. The planets lacked variety, you will always fight the same beasts and face pretty much the same challenges. None of these two games are an example to be followed, but I'm afraid that if we'll ever get another DA or ME, it will still follow the same recipe.

Dragon Age taught Bioware lesbians are more popular than rogues

Well the lesbian is a well established character with a nice backstory and who has been in the game since the beginning though had a major character switch in the second game.

The rogue...is a ADHD Tourettes bulldog elf who whines and disagrees all the time.

And now it's time to read the article and they probably weren't comparing with Sarah at all and it's the little Dwarven scout or something. Razz

EDIT: And they meant the character class and not actual characters.
(Thought they'd be more popular, doing it from behind and all that stuff. Or more gameplay wise they go for DPS and crits.)

EDIT: Oh I had forgotten about that bit, you could actually romance Leliana in the first game come to think of it. There goes that argument.
(She's everybody's pet it seems.)
(Alistair! I command you to harden yourself! And to that degree here's the new challenge...a threesome.)
(Darkspawn got nothing on the STD factory that is Isabela, good things wardens are immune to disease eh?)

EDIT: Though Inquisition pretty much had characters being themselves as classes if I'm remembering it right, with the Qunari additionally also serving as mount. Razz

Dragon.Age.Inquisition.Deluxe.Edition-CPY

Is this version actually ok? Since I remember testing a while ago with some save from Nexus, and while trying to load it, gave me some error that I don't have the DLCs...

Even if this version should have them.

As I recall it lacked the final official update, so therefore any mods made with it won't work. I think you can get around that by making some dummy mods to bump the version number up first, then add the real mods on top. But it has been a long time since I messed with it.

We joke about it but the romance with the mighty Bull is the highlight of the game. He's witty, laid back, can make you feel important and protect you with his stiff Iron Pffchh
My Qunari back in the day accepted the riding challenge without blinking an eye. Still better than the biowomen Cassandra, Josephine and Sera Cool Face Crying or Very sad

Honestly the bull romance is pretty much the only thing I remember about that game, everything else was forgettable and meh

Iron Bull is the only memorable companion from Dragon Age. The post-sex scene with him is hilarious, and the fact he acts in a completely different manner depending on your choice in his quest is uniquely non-newbiowerian.
