Looks like I was able to activate my copy on Steam and got the download. Still alpha but I'm liking so far what I'm seeing with the game. Looking forward to it
Our demo has become super outdated on Steam, so we're planning to release a new version in the middle of the month. Demo content will be limited, meaning that certain buildings will be locked and the game itself will be several updates behind the live version. We're also not offering any additional support for the demo. We want to give newcomers the opportunity to try the game out before they buy it. It will also act as a great tool to test your computer’s performance before purchase.
they are steadily updating each month , but still basically in Alpha stage (August 2016 was jump from pre-alpha to alpha)
This month's patch added finally save/load system
But its still in alpha stage and from what i understood they will launch Early Access when it hits BETA stage

Before we release the game to steam, we want to make sure that it's in a more stable and complete state, with a majority of the features and mechanics in place and relatively bug free. While we wont have all the kinks worked out, we hope to provide an early access product that will allow users to get a better picture of the game and review it as a complete product, rather than a fragment
and they seem to be quite close to that BETA stage (Early Access launch)

This Demo is a first step, depends on acceptance we're gonna setup release dates. Steam is a huge milestone for us and we want make sure you guys will enjoy The Unviersim, this is our first project and our image is so much more valuable for us than profit. We hope for your understanding and asking to be patient.
Jump straight into managing your own planets as you guide a civilization through the ages. Become the ultimate empire in The Universim, a new breed of God Game in development by Crytivo.
The Universim will be available on Steam Early Access on August 28. You will guide a young species, called Nuggets, through the ages on a procedurally-generated planet.
Upon release, you will be able to play up until the Industrial/Modern Age (end of Medieval). You'll find plenty to love in its current state, though. The game will be expanded over the coming months to include more eras, more content, space exploration and colonization, and a few surprises.

Wow, I totally forgot about this. Pledged $15 for it way back.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
Bought it a couple years ago at Uncle Diegos. Tried the 1.0 release but somehow there is so much visual cluter that it becomes chaos. At winter the world turns into one giant snow ball without any details.
I know that it hinges upon being a: nudge here and there kind of god simulation rather than micromanagement but first two hours were becoming more and more confusing.

Mediocre game. The smal world thing is cute as always...and that's about it.
It's just a game were you progress while grinding the tech tree. There is only one way to play the game, you can't be a bastard god for instance and there is a lot of automation.
Also the game does a poor job in giving feedback about what to strive for. After 2 hours for instance, your population will decrease. The game gives you no reason why but it happens in winter. It's scripted i guess. But the solution is in the tech tree. That's the game.
Still fun to progress a little untill stuff is getting to boring as is the case with a lot of indie games. Just trying the stuff out and forget about it after a couple of hours.
