Well, the game kinda fucked me.
I got to the point in the campaign where it was letting me purchase upgrades, clicked the plus sign on 2 additional re-rolls before I realized they were 100,000 and not 10,000 (I somehow missed a zero at quick glance ) - anyway, I hit the minus sign - lost my re-rolls and didn't get ANY money back.
So, basically having to make due the rest of the campaign with 200,000 less gold due to a stupid oversight. Why would anyone want to give up an extra-re roll if they get nothing at all back?

Don't they increase team value? That's why, if they do.

You don't get refunds for any purchases after team creation. It should have a notice telling you as much, but I guess an "are you sure?" pop-up probably would have been a good idea.

If you're sure, then use Cheat Engine to give yourself the money. But it sounds strange, dude, isn't the reroll purchasing an objective you must fullfil to continue? Or did you have 400k initially?

This was a few missions AFTER the forced "purchase re-rolls" tutorial. I had a good chunk of change, so I hit the + twice to buy some, notice I had fucked up the cost, and hit the minus sign. It most definitely DID NOT give me my money back, but I DID lose the re-rolls (had a total of 4 BEFORE I hit the - sign). Note that I did NOT navigate away from the Staff screen during this whole process.
Anyway, was just in the campaign mission where you have to foul the orcs three times - got the SHIT beat out of me, but scored a fucking clutch touch down on a miracle pass with 2 turns left (on turn 14 of 16). When it was my turn to kick the ball, the game crashed.
Fuck this buggy piece of shit.

Hasn't crashed here yet.
In my first match where the turnovers and the rerolls were enabled I tried to "go for it" for 1 square. 83 or 87% chance I don't remember ... failed it, rerolled it, failed again, wtfffffff
But I generally like the game so far. Although I haven't really seen an improvement over the previous one.

I haven't had any crashes yet, but have had several bugs.
A notable one was an opposition player once turning invisible, which caused something of a WTF moment when my ball carrier got blitzed seemingly out of thin air.
I had another issue after a short kickoff by the opposition where the ball landed amongst my players on the line of scrimmage. Before the turn actually started, they all rolled to try and catch it, none of them succeeding naturally, being giant oafs only good at smashing things and standing in opposition tackle zones. When the turn proper actually started, the game wouldn't let me throw blocks with any of those players, only declare a blitz (of which you only get one per turn). Which threw a pretty large spanner in my offensive drive.
There are a few other issues that I would chalk up to bad design rather than bugs per se. Things like the positioning of UI elements and so forth, and Immunity's example of a lack of confirmation messages or otherwise poorly explained/detailed things.
As to dice rolls coming up the same (like the classic rolling double skulls and getting them again on a re-roll), that's not a statistical impossibility, but the rate it happens at does seem improbable. Just like in the first game. Gotta love psuedo-random number generation.

The campaign gets better after 3-4 matches. You get a star player, SPP get unlocked etc.
The AI still hasn't shown me any skill/strategy besides doubling up on my players and starting a domino effect of ass whooping.
I also have a question. Is there any reason not to replace a lineman with a blitzer? Besides hiring cost? Blitzers come with block and are faster iirc. So?

You can only have a limited amount of specialists. I've never played Humans, but off the top of my head I would suspect you can only have a maximum of 4 Blitzers. So yes, certainly, get the max number that you can, but the bulk of any team will always consist of linemen. They are the cannon fodder you use to hold off the other team, the expendable meat shields to protect your best players.
Speaking of which, I have noticed that the AI is fairly easy to bait with a lowly player with minimal/no skills. If you send them out into the opposite wide zone of where you actually intend to make your drive, the AI can't resist going after him, giving you less to deal with around the ball. It would actually make sense to mark such a player from a high agility teams that focus on the passing game, like Elves, but for bashy teams that I play like Orcs and Chaos that never pass (unless desperate) it's stupid. But the AI is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Ah ok, thanks. I now have 4 Blitzers, 1 Ogre, 1 Thrower as a ball fondler/scorer and the rest are Linemen. Who needs Catchers, am I right? I also use that star player, of course.
It's so annoying that, like in the previous game, they only have 8 races initially. Tsk, tsk, tsk, they really are DLC whores. Then I guess I'm a pirate. I won't buy a game and then pirate the DLC to have the other races. And I sure as hell won't be paying more than once for a game

They promised no separate editions this time, but I expect they plan to charge even more in the long run if you wanted all the races. Someone on the official forums posted some race icons from the game assets which would indicate that all the prior races except Nurgle's Rotters are planned for. So something like 24 races in total, including the new Bretonnians in the base BB2.
Btw the Lizardmen and Wood Elf models/assets are already present in the game files, presumably so you can play against them online even if you don't own the DLC, so I assume the actual DLC itself will just be a simple unlock of some sort, probably simple to crack. The same should go for the other DLC.. The assets will likely be pushed out in patches to everyone, and all you pay for is an unlock to use them.

People were apparently playing against devs using them in beta. And if they don't do that while releasing a dozen-plus extra races, it would completely destroy the online community by fracturing it into a million permutations of who had what DLC.
@djaoni Thanks, looks like that works. If 2 DLC are the races, what are the other 2?

Just had a full system lockup/freeze when hitting the end turn button. Fun.
Having played close to 40 matches with a Chaos team now, my tolerance level for the Wild Animal skill that Minotaurs have is just about exhausted. It's made even worse by the fact that they require rolling doubles to access General skills and thus get Block. A lot of the time, especially in early games when the team was just starting out, he just sat on the line of scrimmage doing nothing, because it was too risky to try throwing a block or wasting a blitz. I assume Bone Head and Really Stupid are identical, so I have to wonder if Big Guys are more trouble than they are worth.
Also, what the fuck is that animation where Chaos Warriors throwing a block do a full 360° flip? It's so stupid.

Really Stupid is countered by having another player next to the big guy, but you lose tackle zones if you fail. You also lose tackle zones if you fail Bone-head.
Which is why Wild Animal is actually the "best" one because you don't lose your tackle zones even if you fail.

Ah, yeah I forgot about the tackle zone loss. Been a while since I played with Orcs. Although having someone alongside wouldn't generally be an issue, as for bashy teams I usually like to rock a front row of 5 with 3 next to each other in the middle anyway.
But yeah, tackle zones is pretty much what I use the Minotaur for a lot of the time. I got him the Tentacles mutation, so he is useful to lock down slippery little bastards like Skaven long enough to bludgeon them to death, assuming I can persuade him to move into the desired location.

Just tested, DLCUnlockAll doesn't work, you have to set them manually then the two new races are available, thanks for the info guys. Although I'm focusing on the campaign.
The people over at cs rin use some steamworks emulator by Revolt to create an account and play with others that use the same. I didn't test that but it seems to need the original unmodified executables and being logged in to Steam. And running the DX or GL executables directly or something.
EDIT: The game is pretty buggy, in the Warhammers match I didn't even see that supposed crash. And I shoved someone and he got KOed. I think I shoved him into a hole or something. Not sure. I hope the game doesn't fuck me over, these matches take a looong ass time.

So, my stupid Minotaur finally bit the dust. He was doing a Blitz and on the first result of a two dice block he got a pushback and attacker down, so naturally I chose the pushback. Except I didn't notice he'd already moved his max movement allowance (including throwing the first block), so the pushback triggered a Going For It roll, which he promptly failed, so I tried to use a Team Re-Roll, but (surprise, surprise) failed the Loner roll. Rolled for injury and got dead (of course). Used the Apothecary and got a second dead result. Fan-fucking-tastic. After the match I bought a new Minotaur, and named him Dumbfuck, in memory of the old one.

Playing Blood Bowl with several friends, why would anyone play BB2 over the original one? As far as I'm aware, the original has more content than the new one does lol

I finished the campaign, pretty good. Then I started playing in a league and uninstalled for these reasons:
- I have no rerolls and the enemies have 3.
- They break out of 3-4-5 or even 6 tackle zones like it's nothing, not even using a reroll. Like my players are in a different dimension or something.
- Big guys are useless with all those tragic negative skills. Wasted blitzes, wasted rerolls, seriously? And they don't have Block? What?!
- Injuries that permanently reduce stats? Really?

You have to buy them when you create your team. It's the cheapest time to buy them. You have to balance your initial player selection with this in mind, or you'll cripple yourself.
| VGAdeadcafe wrote: | | They break out of 3-4-5 or even 6 tackle zones like it's nothing, not even using a reroll. |
Dodges only take into account the number of tackle zones on the square they are moving to, not the square they are leaving. And skills like Stunty and Two Heads add +1 to dodge rolls. Agility is the determining factor. If you are playing against Skaven or Elves, expect them to run through tackle zones like they weren't even there.
| VGAdeadcafe wrote: | | Big guys are useless with all those tragic negative skills. Wasted blitzes, wasted rerolls, seriously? And they don't have Block? What?! |
I wouldn't say they are useless. They can be a liability sometimes, but that's the price you pay for having a high strength. They can be frustrating as hell a lot of the time, but they can also turn the tide in your favour if you use them strategically (and the dice fall right).
| VGAdeadcafe wrote: | | Injuries that permanently reduce stats? Really? |
Just like certain dice rolls on level up give you stat increases. That's the nature of the game. And a stat reduction isn't always the end of the world. An Agility loss on a blocker like a Black Orc or a Chaos Warrior, for example, is meaningless, as you'll pretty much never want them dodging or catching the ball, just hitting people. If you are playing a squishy team, like Elves or Skaven, you need to be prepared for a lot of player turnover through injuries and death. Fragility is the price you pay for speed and agility.
