Exactly. I'm gonna try the isodemo some day, and if the game's good, I'm gonna buy it.

END GAME SPOIL:
Spoiler: |
Really??? One try only endgame? Fending of two dark chompers with a table leg? That's stupid.
Tank controls are fine in my book, but when your health (and maintaining it) is a bitch, giving you such a challenge without any possibility of a second chance EVER (you LOSE, GAME OVER!!!) is artificial and retarded.
I'm not korean, I'm not used to select 5^9 things per second.
|
I stand by the fact that it's an overall fine game, but fuck that. It's plain stupid.

Darkwood is the love child of Don’t Starve and Silent Hill. A game that combines refined survival elements with the weirdness of an unsettling world to create a gripping gameplay experience. This is a master class in survival horror that reminds me of the passion and dedication that made me fall in love with indie games in the first place.
Pros:
+ Creepy story
+ Eerie atmosphere
+ Fantastic artistic direction
+ Satisfying gameplay loop
+ Sound design
Cons:
– The combat can be a bit clunky at times
– Some backtracking

Fantastic news, the first is one of my favorite survival horror games.
"In association with Acid Wizard Studio", we shall see about this.

The first game's pixel-based visuals and top-notch sound effects definitely contributed to delivering an impeccable atmosphere, then its constant sense of mystery did the rest. My only complaint was the going back 'n forth™, which is traditionally not something I love.
Apparently, a few years back Acid Wizard sold the Darkwood IP rights to the publisher, but are still contractually obligated to have a consultant role (even though they're a skeleton crew): https://www.gamespress.com/en-US/Darkwood-2-announced-PC
