My original comment was mostly aimed at USA and UK. I am starting to see a similar trend here in Israel as well. |
Leo has it right, atleast in regards to the UK. They diagnose conditions like ADHD at the snap of a finger.
I cannot speak as to the accuracy as I am not a Doctor, but it has always seemed abit suspicious to me.[/quote]

The example I gave above is something I witnessed today on my way to the cemetery, and the girl was no more than 4 years old. |
Well, sincerely I think that those parents fail in many aspects, the girl has probably grew up used to the idea of seeing the parents hitting each other for example and is merely copying what she sees.
Also, in that young age, violence will only lead to fear, I can agree on slapping a teenager for being aggressive towards his parents, but a young child acting like that, first, it's not normal behavior, and secondly a psychological punishment would be preferred and more powerful in that circumstance.
BTW, what where you doing at the cemetery, did you lost someone recently?
