Yup, some time ago in their forum they kinda reassured the fans saying that this Furious crap will be "just" a spin-off before the real sequel (even though when there's Ubisoft involved one always has to prepare for the worst-case scenario  )

Ummm, the people decided to end call of duty. Everyone kept whining and hating on ww2 shooters. No one will ever buy ww2 shooters again. ANOTHER WW2 SHOOTER?! GET ORIGINAL!
Then new cods came out. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT!?
Each new cod is technically the same but it has different ideas and different modes and different schematics.
They're derp cause they're going to those who will pay. But the games aren't bad.
If anyone were to say that all cods are the same, then all shooters alike are the same. Same with fifa and pes games. 
It's idiotic.
The people got bored with ww2. Some devs stuck around with it. Trying to retell stories untold. Some devs stuck around making realistic gems only a few will play. And some devs take minor threats seriously.
One day COD will come back to its roots. With orchestral soundtrack, booming bass, terrifying combat. But right now, the derps love it. And derps have more spending income than all of us combined.
Besides, they learn 'factual' history from videogames.
