Why not move to another carrier then? How are numbers treated? Here in IL, the number stays with you if you move between carriers, so its relatively painless to move between carriers.

Yep, same here, you can keep your number and just change operator.. unless you're on some subscriber-type plan.

I can't change carrier, I'm already on a contract from last year (this is a hardware upgrade mid-contract that just extends it another year). The only reason I'm even getting this upgrade with such a mid-contract discount is because we have a plan through my wife's work (which is itself a discounted plan through the ontario public employees service union).

IMO, iOS platform has its own batch of games now that make it as good as the DS. DS still has a lot of awesome games.. But it is really lacking in the graphics department now.
PSP still has great graphics, but I never found it to have very fun games.

This thing would last no more than a few hours if used. Even if it has some mechanism to shut down a core and underclock the remaining, it is still a beast for such a battery. These kinds of CPUs are not for cell batteries.
If you did a carrier unlock, you can do a tethered jailbreak. Works well enough, need to plug it in every time you have to reset the device (but you only need to do this in extreme cases).
