The feline adventure was both pleasant and underwhelming, but ultimately I enjoyed the trip. Its strong art direction with the attention to detail, all the little animations and the chill soundtrack are the primary factors that make the game stand out - there's always a certain charm to strolling through atmospheric decaying neon-ridden towns and interacting with awkward robofolks whilst sneaking through their places and doing cat things
It's rather short, heavily scripted and the puzzles are straightforward, but it all comes together nicely as the pacing fits the narrative like a glove. I didn't have problems with the performance on my potato, just a few expected hiccups here and there. My pet peeve with it however was the actual platforming and the fact that it's shamelessly based on the awesomebutton, a complete waste of nine lives and the fulfilment of the target audience's power fantasy
Still, it's the type of project where you can tell that care went into making it, which is a rarity in the current rotten market. Yarrr but will meow on a future deep sale.

Now that I think about it, the cat gameplay could very easily translate into a (modern) Hitman-like setting where you as the cat "achieves" different challenges/tasks in semi-open environments. I'd buy that!
Yes! My thoughts exactly. It's criminal that the game only features a couple of moments of contextual problem solving, I would have absolutely loved if the whole thing was structured like a Garrettkitty 47 hybrid sandbox
absolutely love cats but the game looks very very underwhelming (gameplay) to me.. like everything is way too guided, no real platforming either (not really possible to fail at it).. nah.
It's decent for what it is, but could have been a lot better. I liked the exploring parts in the first robot town the most, but the platforming is very limited. Even if you think there are certain parts you could reach, the game decides if you can press the jump button or not.
But it's cute (when the cat wears the vest the first time had me laughing out loud, so recognizable ) and doesn't outstay it's welcome.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
The weird thing is, how is this so popular ? The game cracked 63K CC on steam. Thats more than every sony game except god of war, which is only 10k ahead. More than the Mass Effect Collection. More than Red Dead 2.
The most unusual games end up being popular. In this case, a 5 hour, on rails cat game.
The internet loves cats, it's pretty, it's short (which is exactly how much time many people wanna spend on a single player game these days) and most importantly it's different
When every other new game is part of some franchise or the same formula with a different paintjob something different is a breath of fresh air and very enticing
I mean look at Death Stranding. On paper nothing special at all, almost seems low effort (except for the great mocap and faces) but it was a hit despite just being a delivery guy walking sim, but that was different.

Spot on !
The on-rails aspect doesn't bother the target audience (which includes more casual players not looking for a challenge) in the slightest.

Just finished it too. Took me 8 hours with looking around for everything (and still missed 2 memories and 1 energy drink ). Fantastic game. Has a bit of everything without feeling like out of place. Cuteness, horror, puzzles, stealth, action. Story is kind of casual but done right. Graphics really look nice. OST is on point, probably.
Really should be Top 5 in best indie games this year.
PS: This Skyrim egg Kind of chewed up too much now but whatever.
