does it have many cutscenes? or are they skippable?
They are skippable.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING BAYONETTA ON PC! REPORT BUGS HERE, PLEASE
Thank you for supporting Bayonetta on PC. We here at SEGA Europe are overwhelmed with the positive reception you have given us in this first week after release. We can’t thank you enough for putting us on the Steam Global Top Sellers list!
We have worked hard to ensure that Bayonetta on PC is the absolute best experience you can have on the platform. We do read this forum, and we’re seeing that some of you are reporting issues such as frame drops. Rest assured we are investigating, and a patch is imminent.
You can help us by reporting your issues here in this sticky thread in as much detail as possible so that we can reproduce them, along with your system specs.
Keep an eye on this thread as we bring you further news.
TOP TIP: Press the Back button on the loading screen to lock into Practice Mode. SSD users, be quick! Press Back again to resume loading.
Why bother reporting them? So that Platinum can ignore them like it did with the bugs in NieR: Automata?
Well fans fixed them so why should they bother ?
They make console games usually they don't have to support those after release,
it's also not like SE payed more then the bare minimum for NIER
tried playing again and its just shit, so much facepalm in the beginning when she changes outfit for the first time lol, and combos are too flashy and all over the place and not require any thinking...god of war still king
I can see your soul at the edges of your eyes..

god of war is a button masher.
This is also a button masher but each button represents each action. Fluid animations. Fluid controls.
I played 1 2 and 3.
It's a silly button masher.
You can beat the whole game pretty much just bashing the strong attack. No real skill involved. And the platforming mechanics were supbar at best. Just like anything Jaffe puts his name on.
Drawn to Death has the same idiotic platforming like GOW games. Never finished them cause they ended up being boring.
I get Bayonetta may not be a game for everyone just like GOW isn't for me. But these two aren't in the same category. That's like saying twisted metal is better than need for speed. Or grand theft auto 5 is better than legend of zelda: ocarina of time or the titanic is better than crank
that works in the early levels yes, but iirc (havent played the pc version much till now) you have no chance with that later. without heavy damage combos and triggering witchtime often you will die a lot

actually that's a well known fact about Bayonetta
StEFaN7 check reddit or steam if you don't believe, people praise its deep combat
Quick question: I distinctly recall having finished Bayonetta many years ago, yet it seems the PC version was only released recently... so, umm, how is that possible? Was it playable on an emulator? I remember owning an Xbox360 for a short while in the past but don't recall playing Bayonetta on it... is the only viable explanation that I played it on that?
Bayonetta combat is excellent, if a bit confusing - SO many combos. My only issue with the game is with the boss fights. Now I don't like handholding, and I really don't like games that only rely on 'weak points' with big glowing things to hit - unless they make some sort of sense. In Bayonetta, half the time you don't know WHAT to hit.
Case in point - there's a boss fight early on with one of those upside down cheubim with the dragon heads (forget the name), and it's not immediately obvious what you're supposed to actually do. Flailing about and randomly hitting things wasn't exactly being very effective.
I figured it out of course, but I dunno, maybe just a teeny little hint would be good. (a minor issue I hasten to add).
Oh and I can't quite understand why witchtime doesn't work for some enemies. No idea. I understand why it might not work against another witch, but minor enemies? mmm confusing.
Oh and as for spamming Y to Win? Not gonna happen, only an hour in and you come up against enemies that must be defeated while in witchtime. So
Fuck, who cares, it's just a ton of fun.

The patch is here! Hurrah! Thank you for your patience while we worked with PlatinumGames to make this patch as comprehensive as possible. This patch addresses the following issues:
• Fixed an issue with excessive Steam client CPU usage
• Fixed the MSAA option
• Fixed the “picture-in-picture” graphical issue in the ‘film strip’ cutscenes at certain resolutions
• Adjusted Steam Cloud implementation
• Fixed an issue with the jump control in some situations when using keyboard and mouse
• Added the ability to disable black borders in aspect ratios other than 16:9
Please note that this last feature is unsupported.
Bayonetta was originally designed to a 16:9 aspect ratio only, and as such, certain UI elements will be distorted with this lock disabled; for example, the book that appears before boss fights may appear off-centre, etc.
To enable or disable this feature, quit Bayonetta, right click on Bayonetta in your games library in Steam, go to “Properties” then choose the "Local Files" tab and click on “Browse Local Files”. This will open up an explorer window, and inside the subfolder "Apsect Unlock" are 2 registry files:
Double click on DisableAspectLock.reg to remove the black bar
Double click on EnableAspectLock.reg to re-enable the 16:9 lock
Should you experience any issues post-patch, please post them IN THIS THREAD so we can keep them separate and in one place.
SEGA Europe’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Publishing, John Clark, has told PC Invasion that Bayonetta has sold “just over 170,000” copies on PC. That comes from an interview with Clark about SEGA’s recent PC porting activities, which will be published in full tomorrow.
He adds that SEGA are “really happy with the performance” of Bayonetta, suggesting that the game has either met or exceeded expectations on PC. Confirmation of those sales figures also indicates that SteamSpy’s estimates for the title are very close. The latest figures there show 173,000 owners on Steam.
The initial development paid for itself for its initial release... this is just about making up for the costs of the port. And 170 thousand units should definitely be more than enough for that. So, yeah, good news and let's hope for more ports. (Also from other companies... Bloodborne, I'm looking at you)
