Performance is ok here on i5 2500k oc with 1060 oc.
But the game is not ok...
It's really made for casuals or worse even on sim level ffs
Oh well I'll wait for Dirt rally 2.

Seriously? This game was NEVER touted to be on par with DR. It was a casual version, more in line with previous Dirt games, and was never going to be as 'simulatory' as DR.

Expecting DR2 from this game was setting expectations way up there. Simulation mode was never going to equal DR's level of simulation.... otherwise it would have been DR2.

Unfortunately, they actually did say it Razz

I haven't tried the game yet (waiting for a repack for my puny and malfunctioning 4Mbit) but if the handling on Simulation really is more simplified/streamlined than DR's as it seems, then we can talk about misleading marketing.
It was to be expected though from the name, and from the fact that every time games try the "it can appeal to everyone!" approach they end up disappointing those who don't happen to be part of the lowest common denominator.

Pretty good video.
I for one love the game so far ... not sure what some ppl have problem with. I can powerslide anywhere I want, tuning cars feels great. Reshade works well so graphics arent washed out now and I can tone down saturation.

Um,, wow, ok I never saw THAT quote. I apologise to the forum and join in with the eternal damnation of the game then. I am positive I read they were aiming for a casual-sim game rather than trying to match DR's level of excellence, and as such they've pretty much insulted most of the playerbase they were building.

I have played it now as well, and it's not DR standard, and it IS much more Dirt-esque. Forza Rally I'd call it.

Finally tried the isodirt for a while, I can confirm the sensations, under the hood it's definitely a more game-y experience overall. The thing is, it wouldn't even be a bad game per se when compared to the previous Ken Block Gymkhana Party #yolo 3 or the abysmal WRC games of late, it's just that going from the tsunami of sheer satisfaction and complexity (in a good way) of Dirt Rally to a watered down experience again feels like an unnecessary step back, and that's a damned shame.

I didn't even try the Gamer mode and went straight to the "Simulation" one, needless to say that despite the name and claims the grip levels are too high, there's a constant invisible steering aid and it's nearly impossible to oversteer or lose control of the car even on gravel. Another case of consolized simplification, but it was to be expected from a triple-A Codemonsters product. Okay
On the bright side, both Rallycross and tarmac in general actually do feel alright, nothing particularly remarkable but *it's something*. The visuals are a mixed bag, as the lighting and complete package appear fairly vintage (and Dirt Rally wasn't exactly a champion of technology to begin with), the performance suffers from random unjustified drops as well, nothing serious here though.

In a nutshell, if one wants to experience butt-clenching, demanding and compelling genuine rally, the only modern option available is Dirt Rally, period. Get that and never look back. Otherwise, when it comes to tamer hybrid compromises, this D4rt ain't a terrible choice, it's simply...a wimpy one, not for real men Cool Face

So I've been playing this in warez and bought it today for very cheap. I'm guessing it was a very unsuccessful title if there are only two DLCs, one of which is team XP boost. Laughing

But... It's not that bad! Laughing I am liking it. This is nowhere near as terrible as DeRP 2/3. In simulation mode, the driving is enjoyable. It has events that are not found in Rally/2.0, such as buggy racing. I like it. I didn't see any DReP BLoCK crapola of the previous games. Roads are much narrow now, and are more challenging than Dirt 3.

A pleasant surprise, after I ignored the Dirt series after so long (excluding Rally offshoots). If someone is wondering if it is worth 6-8euros, it is. Smile

I would like a Dirt 5... Facepalm Okay

I liked 4. I also liked Dirt Rally & 2.0, but Dirt 4 itself wasn't very bad, and it had enough side content to be interesting. With Rally 2.0 now being so varied and big in content (after all DLC milking), I wonder what they can do with a Dirt 5 to differentiate it. Hopefully Showdown garbage, but I doubt it; that was the least selling Dirt, even worse than Dirt 4. Laughing
