The game doesn't reinvent any wheels but I'm having some fun with it, the cyberpunk aesthetics merging melee and gunplay with the shifting and various special abilities work well in my opinion, and the upgrade points can also be reassigned whenever the player wants to in order to try different strategies (the multidirectional wasd-ing around can be awkward indeed, but thankfully it doesn't bother me personally).
The structure is linear-ish with a basic narrative, levels filled with mobs followed by bosses to defeat, nothing too fancy. Those can be quite challenging, but it's only a matter of having patience since they have very basic patterns and it's all about figuring out the right strategy. Obviously, this is unthinkable for IGN and the likes, not being able to press a glowing button that grants instant victory? Unacceptable
It doesn't seem to be a long game (I'm three hours in and practically halfway through it), but given the rinse and-repeat-y nature of the action it's not really a problem as it's something that tends to be repetitive. I'd say it's worth an isoride, there's plenty of meaty twitchy pew and the presentation is stylish enough to make it stand out.
Game seems decent. Didnt grab me. Hotline miami was much better. Played for a bit and can't even remember the ost. Combat feels ok but nothing special. Just spamming melee and dashing atm on very hard or w/e. Guns feel shit except for the shotgun. Would expect a sword to actually cut but feels the same as the crowbar.
I just watched a bit of your videos. The boss fight was rather boring i must say.
The normal play wasn't too bad, but from the looks i think it will get repetive fast.
The weapon arsenal and skill choice seem rather limited.
Can you even chose other skills (bottom right of the screen)?

The boss fight may seem boring cause I already knew what to do, heh.
It doesn't get repetitive at all 'cause the game constantly introduces new types of enemies which require a different approach. And some bosses force you to change the skill set.
The weapon arsenal is huge actually. You can choose from over 20 weapons (melee and ranged), which can be acquired via the Supply Drop ability should you want one for a specific situation. Any weapon is unlocked in the Supply Drop in the skill's weapon selection wheel just by grabbing it beforehand.
I found the abilities in the skill tree to be more enough for any fight, plus most of them evolve later in the game. If you equip two skills that use the same key (Q or Shift), you can toggle them using the skill wheel by pressing alt.
Played a bit more and it's not bad. The enemies and especially bosses require you to change tactics. Some bosses gave some challenge actually forcing me to change skills and tactics.
It's not just mindless dash and melee like I tought.

Well, I quite enjoyed it, Pey loved it, and Famou liked it too after the first so-so impact, it's already three people on this page who didn't find it meh
It's a solid entry in the genre with a neat art-style and soundtrack (the first aspects that catch the attention), albeit perhaps it's not quite the masterpiece of level design that one would expect. Still entertaining for what it is, and rather challenging especially near the end - one of the patches though have made it less punishing..courtesy of them journos!
